Interesting that first he bought it, then he didn't. Should be easy to verify with a receipt if there was a purchase.

They are reportedly taking the firearms dealer licenses from dealers who sell directly to buyers from other states.

One dealer, for example, lost his license for selling a firearm to someone from another state who had a license to carry in their home state. The dealer thought that having a license to carry mean that he could sell it to him directly, but that is apparently not the case.

You dont need a TX ID to buy a gun in TX. Just some kind of legit govt ID that proves who you are.

You are probably thinking of someone who purchased online - you cant have an FFL item shipped straight to your house, it has to be shipped to an FFL and then you go in person to pick it up and complete the ID process.
