My favorite is still the Y2K simulation video with Charlie Steiner - "Follow me, follow me to freedom!"

Wasn't he wearing a necktie as a bandanna ?

If so ... awesome.

Steiner was great. Watching him lose his mind when Carl Lewis butchered the national anthem is still my favorite all time.

Him and Dan Patrick was must see TV while in college. Also love Craig Kilborn and Charlie Steiner. The commercial with Steiner as the pool boy on Melrose Place is hilarious.

I can't remember if it was actually during his show on ESPN or on another talk show, but Scott Van Pelt reading viewer emails was outstanding. The best one was "dear Scott, you look like a giant peenus"

What happened to Craig Kilborn? Did he just disappear completely after the Daily Show?

Oh yeah. He and Dan Patrick were great.

He went the way of Syd Barrett.

One of my favorites was during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearing timeframe. Chris Berman walks up to a podium and there's "Hill vs Thomas" banner at the top of the screen.

Berman then compares the running style and usage of Duane Thomas and Calvin Hill - early 1970s Dallas Cowboys RBs. The commercial ends with the narration: ESPN - they do know football.

Pure genius, and perhaps the best example of just how far they've fallen.

Same. Way before DVR/streaming, when I first heard Olberman say the "the for those of you scoring at home" line I waited up for the SC replay like 3 hours later to make sure I heard that correctly. Back then sports used to be pure entertainment, not the politically correct, cultural war that it is today.

My favorite is when Stuart Scott starts the rumor that Steiner doesn't think much of Evander Holyfield as a boxer. Holyfield busts through the halls looking for Steiner. "Charlie come on out and get your whoopin'!"

Everett should have punched Rhomey in the nose then dumped one of those chairs on him.

Would have shut that tool's pie hole, but good

I remember when SNL used to be funny, like 30+ years ago.

It was already trending downhill by the 90s, and once the trio of Adam Sandler, David Spade, and Chris Rock left it went to absolute crap where it's been ever since.

I still like the brief shot of Mark McGuire getting caught by the camera smashing office equipment.
