Again this comes down to did this always happen and we didn't see it because of social media or is society crumbling?

I take the latter. I do not remember people behaving like this. Sure there was always ruckus at football games. There are morons that identify so much with a team that they lose their minds. But in the past week, I've seen at least 3 serious fights at NFL games.

We see people thrashing McDonalds' lobbies. People fighting at Spirit Airlines counters. People running over bicyclists for fun.

What the hell is going on in this society?

It's happened before but is relatively rare in the US.

That said, this cannot be tolerated and must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We, as a country and society, cannot allow our sports to turn into hooliganism like Soccer in the rest of the world.

What is going on? We have completely abandoned God.

It's why Joe Biden is stealing us blind. It's why a Supreme Court justice can't tell us what a woman is. It's why we're incapable of running a fair election. It's why a virus completely paralyzed our nation.

There is some question as to whether the death was from a cardiac event related to exertion during the altercation or the fight itself.

Extortion eh? So the Clintons were involved?

It looks like the deceased fan Mooney was the one that started the physical altercation unless I missed something in the video. He walked over to a section of Dolphins fans and grabbed one of them and started to tussle.

Haven't been to an NFL game in 10 years and just not interested in going. The NFL is a better product on tv to begin with, but the number of trash fans is crazy. Some of these folks treat it like new years and mardi gras rolled into one. Get hammered before the game, it only goes downhill from there, and it's not exactly a corporate career they are risking in an altercation.

There is a blue collar subculture built around NFL season tail gating and game attendance and the participants live for it. They plan their lives around it. They save money the rest of the year just to buy tickets and tailgate passes like some people make vacation travel plans. Their life is working all week, prepping Saturday, then getting raging drunk and over fed more or less every other Sunday for 4 months.

This. When I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to attend a Cowboys home game, I'm always surprised by who is sitting in the most expensive seats. Peeps save up all their money and spend it on one game.

In a similar vein, my family has started a dudes trip every year where we go to a road game. We've done Chicago and Green Bay (I did San Diego by myself several years back). This year, we're doing Carolina (the original plan was Miami, but that was scrapped due to the game being on Christmas Eve). It's annoying because Cowboys games are about 3x as expensive to attend than non-Cowboys games (still less expensive than attending a game at the Death Star), but the goal is to eventually get to all the road spots before I keel over.

Yep. It's just a game, bruh. No need to act like an Eagles fan.

We seem to value the perps life when it comes to "consequences" than we do the perp's victim's life.

To be fair, the uncle of my uncle was killed in a massive fight between A&M and Baylor students back in 1926. I believe someone pummeled his head with a chair.

there was a fight at a local high school game in Bethesda, MD a few weeks back

an entire pack of teenagers were beating the hell out of two white kids that they cornered at the Metro Stop.

you can guess the race of the pack beating them.

I'm 52 and this never happened until the last few years.

Everybody's angry. God has been nearly eliminated from society. Social media has made us even more angry. The left and media have worked for 50 years+ to divide us. Young people were never told no and as a result have massive issues integrating into society.
Could go on and on but boils down to the left's disastrous effect on our culture.

Seen plenty of this behavior from the sip and tech student sections 20-30 years ago. Hell, saw a sip student take a swing at a 70+ yo who was pissed because the student threw ice and hit his wife.

And Techies threw D cell batteries.

Students put right up against the visiting olds should have made a schools liable in retrospect...

I'm sure they are fully vested in their corporate 401K and will be able to comfortably retire at age 62 with no need for Federal assistance.

agree totally. My son was a huge saints/brees fan growing up. When he turned 17 I took him to the Saints/Cowboys game on a Thursday night. I think it was fall 2018. We wore Saints stuff. Got good seats.

I'll never go back to an NFL game. There were a fair number of Saints fans there. But the whole NFL game atmosphere, especially at Cowboys stadium, feels like "new years and mardi gras" , like the above poster said. Everybody is just hammered. The Cowboys won , which made the walk to the car a little easier, but walking out to the car we had numerous Cowboy "fans" cursing at us. Luckily there were a lot of hammered Saints fans who were giving it back to them. It felt like a fight was going to break out at any moment.

Post of the day. I could never wrap my head around that, particularly the tail gating part. Spend part of day the day before the game (spend Friday preparing for college games, spend Saturday preparing for pro games) getting things ready, load up the pit and paraphernalia for cooking, the stuff you intend to cook, ice chests, generator, corn hole boards (pretty much their back yard), head to the game and unload the stuff, cook and eat, go in for the game and then afterwards pack it all back up, drive home, and unpack it again. It always made me think they wanted others to see that they could prepare meat of some sort, as if only they can. I'd just cook at home, make a sandwich, and take it with me, no load, unload, load, unload for me.

As to saving money for it, we have a county fair that has been going on for like 115 years. A large part of it is a rodeo, four nights. Livestock show, queens contest, parades, old timers events, trail ride, musical entertainment, dances, ranch rodeo, BBQ cookoff, domino tournament, carnival, washer tournament, etc. Whole thing spans nine or ten days, with the rodeo on the last four nights. I used to be over ticket sales as part of the volunteer group. Some advance sales, mostly day of event sales. You would see person after person come to the ticket windows and pull out $100 bills, often folded and tucked away in their wallet, to buy those tickets. Kids might be poorly dressed, or in the food program at school (small town so you often knew), but by God they had their money for the rodeo! And I am sure they dropped as much or more on the other events.
