Yesterday, I and the other Gov/Econ teachers at my school had to take our classes down to our school's media center to listen to a presentation from the county Supervisor of Elections office about registering to vote.
The presenters were telling the kids why voting is important and why their vote matters. To provide an example, they referenced 2020 Amendment 2 to the Florida Constitution. This amendment raises the state minimum wage incrementally every year until it hits $15/hour (currently it's $11; jumps to $12 at the end of this month). One of the presenters went on and on about how they need to thank Florida voters for making sure they have a good wage.
This made my Econ teacher brain itch. The good thing is, I cover wages as a price next week and get to tear this argument up.
