I would've been OK meeting Bill Clinton but I would not have wanted to meet Hillary. I never liked her.

But I did not vote for Bill Clinton either time.

Have hung out with GWB several times. Played golf with him once. Regardless of your politics the guy is a blast to have a good time with.

Was trying to shake Robert Gates' hand when he and Obama came to the Corps. Missed Gates and Obama snuck his weak slimy hand in there. This is no exaggeration, he had the handshake of an 8 year old girl and his hands were silky smooth. Felt gross.

I probably got you in one of my photos.

George H W Bush crossed my path in the MSC in the 1984 timeframe when he was VP.

Presidential Candidate...

I was boarding a plane from Denver to Houston and they were holding everyone back while someone got on the plane, but I didnt know who. I thought it was unusual.

I was one of the first to board the plane and when I was taking my seat I noticed Gary Hart in the seat in front of me with his daughter who was helping with his campaign.

This was after the Donna Rice scandal and before the democrat primary election. He reentered the race after the scandal in December 1987, so the flight must have been in 1988.

At the time I thought about why he would enter the race after the scandal because he had no chance.

Only conclusion was that he wanted to get 15% of the vote to get matching federal funds for his campaign. he got 1.65% of the vote.

Thats back when the country cared about the morals and character of the candidate.

Wow has that changed.

Not as president, yet... GWB when he was gov.

Was at a Texas Rangers' game and he was walking through the now old park's concourse area. He had a DPS detail... as he came close I said "Howdy" and shook his hand.

He asked if I had a good experience, enjoyed the game. I did, but it was a scorching hot day game.

He looked beaten-down by the heat/sun too.

Triggered? As if others here have only posted only presidents. And if you knew her, she ruled like one as Governor of Texas.

My dad worked with W when he was the governor. He even gave my dad one of the nicknames he is known for giving people. I met him a few times as governor.

My sister and I saw HW in the DC airport. She was wearing a Bush Library sweater and chased him down.

@OneLouder - I'm shocked you haven't posted that on this thread yet!

I met GHWB at his home in Houston shortly after he left office. My dad worked for the city as an inspector, so the whole family got to meet him and Barbara. They were super nice people. I was young at the time, they were like grandparents.

Met GWB when he was Gov.

Even more importantly:
Neil Armstrong - shook his hand, got an autograph
John Young - briefly worked with him (I asked him how was the moon. He said "you can jump real high but other than that, no big deal")
Harrison Schmitt - saw his presentation on lunar geology
Alan Bean - got his autograph
Charlie Duke - My soccer coach in 2nd grade

Everyone else, no big deal.

Neil Armstrong, that is amazing!!!

GWB's bus almost ran over my foot when we lined up for his dad's funeral at Bush Sr's library. If only I actually practiced in the Aggie Band I might've been picked to play at the ceremony.

I was sitting at On the Border when George Bush Sr. and Mikhail Gorbachev came in and sat at a table next to us.

This was back when OtB was new and was the place to go.

Gorbachev was in town for something at the Bush library.

I always like to say we had lunch at separate tables together.

Not a president but in the stairway at Aston dorm in 1975, future Miss USA, Kim Tomes, was coming up the stairs while I was going down.

And I'm never forget what Kim said to as I have cherished it all these decades: She said "Get out of my way".

Closest I got was in early 60s. Knocked on former Roosevelt VP John Nance "Cactus Jack" Garner's front door and tried to sell him raffle tickets. He politely declined. In his 90s at the time.

I've never met or been in the same room as any president, but our oldest got to be part of the net crew at Kyle for a game against OU with GHWB in attendance. Our son met the president and got had a photo taken with Bush sitting in his scooter. The part of the photo that always draws my attention is the guy in black sunglasses in the near background giving the photographer a sideways glance (SS).
As for me, I think the most famous persons I've ever met were Nolan Ryan, Craig Biggio, RC Slocum, Robert Reid (at a restaurant in Sugar Land), Victor Kiam (Remington Razors, I think - I liked the company so much I bought it), and some weathercaster I met at a grocery store in Missouri City.

Shook hands with Nixon, Ford, and LBJ. Saw RR make a speech at the Alamo and saw JFK in San Antonio, the day before he was shot.

I have a vague recollection when I was very young - like 5- 6 yrs old - of my grandmother taking me to some event, I think in Round Top, TX where President Johnson was going to make an appearance. I recall being very near a big black car when he got out of the back seat and walked past us - maybe within 10' or less.

When I was in Jr High and living in Russellville, AR, I was at a ceremony in which the city was dedicating a new overpass and then Governor Clinton was there for the ribbon cutting ceremony and I was probably within 50' of him.

That's about it for me.
