It is scary that this is even an even an objective.

I would like to scoff that they are just idiots, but if it is an objective - they will follow the Covid plan and some loon will poison meat centers. Stir everyone into a frenzy that meat is poison/diseased and *poof* we are meatless.

I can see it now. The Smokey and the Bandit reboot will feature another haul out of Colorado, only this time it will be a reefer full of beef out of Greeley heading to the west coast.

So the left has less than six and a half years to devise a plan to eliminate fast food, food trucks, convenience store kitchens, and mexican restaurants. Interesting.

There are two particular demographics that make up a very large chunk of the dem voting base. They also happen to be the two most obese demographics in the country. So good luck with that.

Just had a thought. The black market for meat products would sky rocket. As a rancher this idea intrigues me.
our future oligarchs will rise out of the black markets. that's the cycle

not my oligarchs. i'll be long gone

Second time I've seen this story on here, and I still can't figure out who it is that makes up this "climate coalition" and exactly what authority they have to make this pledge/goal for a city. Was it a city council agenda item? Did the mayor declare it on Earth Day? Is it just some fringe environmental nuts who had a meeting, smoked some weed, and then spoke for everyone?
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

Why are the prisons not already serving "non-meat meat" or fake meat - whatever it's called - to inmates?
Because the fake **** actually cost more than real meat.

Correct. This group has as much authority to implement these directives as Captain Crunch does to implement military engagements.

It's simply clickbait.

It is so hard to not laugh at the idiocracy, but with people like Biden and Obama that are allowed to keep giving away US sovereignty in bits and pieces it is only a matter of time. The only thing stopping this from happening are legal votes.

So for us dummies in the 'burbs of these democratically led ****holes, will property values skyrocket as a result of city folk fleeing to our towns, or will they plummet as a result of the rats taking over and destroying what was once a great thing?

I think the country would massively benefit from seeing the 200 year trend of people moving toward the cities reverse itself - so I like this plan.

Let the suburbs become their own cities more completely, and suburbians move back to the small rural towns. Cultural impact would be positive.

So please Houston, ban meat and cars. Watch your tax base evaporate overnight.

This is why remote work is so important. And it really confuses me that so many on F16 crap all over it.

Remote work is key to reducing the stranglehold big cities have on politics.

Yep,now we just need to keep those cities/states from taxing remote workers

This stuff is real. They are planning and slowly executing this plan in buildings you can't access, no press to report on who is doing what and populous who on the whole wants it.

If it isn't stopped now…..well…..just be prepared to eat bugs as part of your weekly diet.

If you don't think this will happen in the next decade, prayers for you and your family. I highly doubt you see a R in the oval office again. Better have an exit strategy in place.

Oh....Kay....
This.

I would like for Houston to not be so totally car-dependent, but the only way of making that happen at this sprawl-entrenched point is for the entire metro area to be leveled by a hurricane and rebuilt by the Dutch.

I'd love to know how the Houston mayor is going to enforce the following onto private citizens:

0 kg [of] meat consumption," "0 kg [of] dairy consumption," "3 new clothing items per person per year," "0 private vehicles" owned, and "1 short-haul return flight (less than 1500 km) every 3 years per person

Not saying they CAN do anything. Just replying that it's not some faceless or nameless fringe group. It's a heavily financed, well organized international group pushing this that happens to have active members currently serving as mayors in over a hundred cities.

With no ability to enforce anything. I'm just not gonna get worried about it. Your mileage may vary.
