This is how we win back the minority vote:

Liberal white Democrats want to take away your meat and make you eat kale and crickets. We will not touch your beloved meats and cheeses

Exactly my thought. The leftists can proclaim whatever they wish, it doesn't make it remotely likely to happen. Houston/Harris County voters do need to grow a brain tho and run these buttheads out of office that sign the city on to this sort of garbage.

you will still able to eat meat in the new world. it will just all just be lab grown from the company of a malthusian billionaire that cultured it from the immortal cell lines of a malignant black woman.

there should be a pledge in Texas for all conservatives, that starts with protecting the innocence of children, and somewhere up near the top should also be the conservation of natural bloody meat for food.

deal-breaker if you don't sign on.

If I'm conservative politician in Austin or Houston I just got gifted my entire platform and campaign. pro-meat. This is gonna bring a lot of folks together. They just have to start talking about it pronto, loudly
Not even that - Texas isn't NYC. The transportation angle is a non starter. No one is going to give up their cars with A/C.

Based on what happened during COVID, I think most would. Certainly not all, but easily a majority. Children today are being brainwashed by the nonsense.

I watched a documentary about the Bolshevik revolution. Those people were willing to die, even be tortured to death, for the sake of the collective. That's the American left today and it's growing. Individualism is dead on the left.

Fourteen major American cities are part of a globalist climate organization known as the "C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group," which has an "ambitious target" by the year 2030 of "0 kg [of] meat consumption," "0 kg [of] dairy consumption," "3 new clothing items per person per year," "0 private vehicles" owned, and "1 short-haul return flight (less than 1500 km) every 3 years per person."

They're a test bed for state and federal goals by 2050

It's our kids, grandkids, and great grandkids that will fight the big battles. They need to be prepared.

This climate change religion is a serious threat to our liberties, glad we are armed.

I always wonder how this plan will play out. The govt starts rationing meat, electricity and gas. Your move. What do you do?

Eventually, i think people start taking it out on the actual number one enemy and threat. The ones responsible for all of this. The ones who empower and enable it by their vote. The ones who wanted to fire you, imprison you, and take away your children if you wanted to make your own medical decisions. They have virtually zero arms. When it gets to this point, remind yourself that they are the ones who pushed and pushed until it got to that point. They hate you and hate your God. They hate your children.

We can all blame the Obamas, the Biden's, the Pelosi's, but they would not be in power if it weren't for the godless hordes of leftist vermin.

There is going to be a boiling over at some point. I don't think it happens until we hit truly hard times. If I were a leftist, I would be going against my warped perverted religion, and buying guns and ammo.

The linked article almost had me on board until this part:

"This isn't to say that we shouldn't try to limit carbon emissions. Environmentally friendly nuclear energy, which is safe and more reliable than wind and solar energy, is a great way to wean our society off of our reliance on fossil fuels. "

The states economy relies on fossil fuels. Getting rid of fossil fuels and catering to leftist lies about manmade global warming would not only not work, it would destroy the Texas economy. It would also harm the endowment upon which A&M depends. The myth of "environmentally friendly nuclear energy" is a wild lie. All complex systems are prone to eventual failure. When that happens with a nuclear power plant, it renders portions of the Earth permanently uninhabitable. Anybody want to go vacation in ***ushima, or eat fish caught just offshore where they are releasing contaminated water into the ocean? How about a camping trip in the beautiful forests surrounding Chernobyl?

they lie by naming their programs one thing, as it's designed for something else entirely.

They control municipal governments by withholding or lavishing funding. and they have the money printer.

yeah, right. How many of these cities are subsidizing their airports and increasing capacity?

They're just paying it lip service which will allow them to make changes they think will ultimately give them more power without risking losing their tax base.

It is a religion but just as there are "Cafeteria Catholics" who will believe what they like and ignore what they don't, I am sure there will be many "Cafeteria Climate Activists" in government who will take what gives them more power and ignore what loses them money or power.

Adopting dietary change is the consumption intervention with the greatest potential for emissions reductions. Adopting a healthy diet (i.e. lowering meat and dairy intake) would contribute 60% of the emissions reduction (43% and 17% respectively)
I more and more believe that most of these numbers that the Enviro Wacko's spout are completely fabricated. I just do not believe that meat and dairy generate that much CO2 that it needs to be reduced or eliminated. I also do not believe that most people will be able to live long and healthy lives without meat and dairy products.

I believe that these Enviro Wacko's just want to control people and kill off a large portion of the population.
So these environmentalists must be ecstatic that 30 million bison were killed in the 1800s. That must have been the greatest emissions reduction in the history of the world, by their logic.

Agreed 100%. Emphasis mine.
I'm not sure if people genuinely believe someone is going to say, "Wow, if some people say I'm a moron for not believing this, it clearly must be true."

It's not much a persuasive argument. It really just sounds like a bunch of miniature dachshunds barking because the first one one barked when it thought it heard something.

Awww. How cute. There are still people out there who don't yet believe there's a layer of Intel, law enforcement and bureaucracy (fortified by state-run media) who have a veto over the will of the voters.

Stay innocent guys...it reminds me of the good 'ol days when the Constitution was indeed the law of the land.
