I see where Walgreens is pumping classical musical outside and I guess inside of some of their stores in an attempt to calm down thieves and looters.

I recently went into my local Popeyes (which I do about once per year) and they were playing easy listening jazz music.

It doesn't really fit the atmosphere for a fast food chicken restaurant, but I liked it.

I wonder if Popeyes motivation for playing this genre is the same as Walgreens

Elevator music... There is a reason they play "muzak" in elevators.

Dude, they blurred his face specifically so you couldn't tell the voice didn't line up with the mouth. Then there are people laughing over his talking. Finally, you think local news is going to upload a video unedited of a guy saying all of those expletives? Come on man.

Popeyes is always rocking the New Orleans jazz. How are you gonna down some spicy chicken without New Orleans jazz?

Based on the usual suspects involved they'd get better results pumping in weed smoke.

This is the classical music playing in my head, when I enter a fine dining establishment like Popeyes.

I remember some years back a store was playing music at a certain key that teens can hear but not older folks in order to keep them from loitering in the parking lot. Of course that wont stop a gang of thieves.

I always listened to classical through headphones instead of rock when I was studying for exams in college and law school. At worst I was acting like the conductor.

But yes, I really did listen to classical music. It calms me and allows me to focus on reading, not lip synching lyrics.

I tend to listen to Chopin when I am doing analytical work. Piano only, so calming and not distracting.

LOL. I was dog sitting for friends while they were out of state for a week. I'd show up early in the morning with the paper and large cup of coffee, let him out to do his business and then he would jump into his Master's recliner, and nod his nose up for me to turn on the TV. Dog liked the Food Network, so I turned that on.

Peace reigned. Dog was fed, relieved, happy watching TV. This was in the early 90s. Dog's name? Trump no s***

I've got a ton of CDs, mostly 80s, Christian (CCM), and Classical. Though I had a spreadsheet of all the titles at one time (long since out of date), I'm not sure which of these three genres has the lead.

Incidentally, if keeping with the peace theme, there are classical titles that were written with the theme or backdrop of war. Holst's Planet's first movement (Mars), The 1812 Overture, and Haydn's Mass in Time of War are 3 that come to mind. There is also a very obscure piece, I can't recall the title or composer, that I heard about 3 or 4 years ago that commemorates the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. More of a peace than war deal. The music wasn't to my taste.

The "mosquito", a high pitched buzz that is in the high range of hearing that we old farts lose by age 30 or so.

I discovered the Bach and Baroque channels on Apple Music for house and yard work. Funny how age can transform your musical tastes...

I'll throw Baseball Organ music out there as a mood setter for gentlemen. There's a few on YouTube:

I also enjoy the "One hour of silence occasionally broken up by <something random>. For example:

Playing both at the same time can really lift your spirits.
