Pence is an excellent example of why no one competent will agree to be Trump's VP.

The guy will forever be linked with Trump. And despite 4 years of backing Trump's every decision, Trump's supporters have unanimously turned on him.

Anyone with legitimate political aspirations will give the 2024 Trump clown car a wide berth.

Tim Scott has a good shot at being president some day. He's gonna be patient and not tie himself to Trump.


The only person that takes the VP slot is someone who has no real chance of ever becoming president some day. They have nothing to lose, and the may become president during the term.

The same reason kamala agreed to run with the racist man who wanted her bussed.

Oh, I can definitely see Trump going with Scott to 1) play up the religion angle and add bonafides that he doesn't have himself, and 2) play the race card.

Trump and DeSantis are going to have to avoid a normal white male VP choice. They had better look at a bisexual or homosexual or pansexual or transexual, and at least half-black. Even that likely won't offset the cheating democrats but might require them to manufacture a lot more mail-in ballots.

Trump/RFKticlet would maximize liberal tears. Would be a glorious 4 years.

Before Scott tried to pile on Kamala's fake DeSantis criticism I would have said he was above sinking to the level of becoming VP of a guaranteed loser like Trump, but not really 100% sure now.

I just can't see Scott destroying his political career like that. He'd be done in national politics.

Also South Carolina is 100% Trump and adds nothing.

Why would congressmen (the swamp) know who Trump's potential picks might be?

I think Scott makes sense. Funny thing is if it's Scott it incentivizes the actual removal of Trump if he wins since Scott is Swamp/Bush wing and the favorite of Senate Leadership. Scott himself will never be the choice in a Primary so its a great way to get the power of the Party back to the Establishment and destroy the MAGA movement. Scott has nothing to lose as a Safe Republican Senator.

Doesn't matter though. Trump at the top of the ticket loses Goldwater style. That's also a win for the GOP establishment because it lets them kill MAGA and allows them to be controlled opposition which is what they want.

It amazes me how people can't look down the chess board and think things through.
