Middle of nowhere in TX. Buy 100 acres and set them(and yourself) up for self sustained living in the future. Bad times are coming quicker than we realize. Best to have a place you can grow food and have your own water source. Only downside is that TX gets so hot in the summer and if electricity is disrupted, it will be hard for us air-conditioning lovers.

Security wise, there isn't anyplace to go that will be safe if the US tanks. Russia or China or somebody will roll over the old Eastern Block. Europe is devolving. New Zealand, Australia, and Canada are more leftist and have fewer rights that us now. Central and South America have big problems. And China? God certainly can do whatever he wants and create anything he wants but I don't see that place not being a hellhole in our children's lifetime.

I've been looking for a second residency/citizenship for years and basically came to the same conclusion. I've traveled to most of my target countries and nothing feels right. At first, I thought it was Central America. Then I realized it would NOT be a good place to be as a gringo if civil unrest happened. Which is kinda the whole point of going there in the first place. Then I thought New Zealand or Australia. Their Covid reaction alone made that region a no go. There's really no place left to go. Now, I think the best strategy for all this is to own acreage in a small rural town that you enjoy living in and become as self sufficient as possible.

You are right about Central America. First of all, if the US tanks, Central America will completely destabilize to a worse state than it is today, plus China is already in there snooping around. The Chinese are sitting in Panama now under the guise of shipping companies.

One area that might be a possibility is the Azores. They are islands and have a nice climate, but it's still Europe with no constitutional protections and they can easily be invaded and conquered with no US around for protection.

I'm a decade and a half ahead of you and I'm finally back in Texas after spending 12 years in Australia where I became a Permanent Resident but decided to not pursue Citizenship.

Which country are you planning to go to?

There are a lot of things wrong in the USA but, if you move to an area where you can protect yourself and work a job to earn a living, have a supply chain that can provide your basic needs (assume you're not living off the land) and switch off the mainstream media, there's really no better place than the USA.

I agree that things are pretty nice when I go out and about in the real world. Almost everyone gets along and treats each other with respect. But that is only because we are not wearing our politics on our sleeves. We operate largely as a "don't ask don't tell" society.

The reality is that a large % of those people in the real world vote in favor of empowering these vile politicians, the media and corporations pushing policies that will only harm my child's future. Making them my enemy.

In a hypothetical world where we were required to wear "flair" showing who we supported for president or what policies we supported or rejected, there would be much more conflict out there. Covid and all of the mask and vaccine sh** have us a glimpse of this.

- Like 85% of democrats supported firing the unvaxxed
- 60% supported locking them down until they complied
- 50% supported harsh fines or imprisonment for anyone who questioned the efficacy" of the vaccines or "spread misinformation"
- Lastly, 30% wanted children taken away from the unvaxxed until they complied.

Yeah but a couple of years ago I was driving to work on a largely empty I35 with a note in my car from my employer that I was a "vital employee who needed to be on site". I had my lunch packed since I knew there would be no eating places open. Once at work I had to present my "papers" and have my temp taken.
