The term "Climate emergency" is rationally incoherent. There is absolutely nothing about climate that occurs in the short term by definition. There is nothing that is sudden or impending. Climate is by definition over long time scales and therefore the factors that influence it are of the same nature. Nothing we do required immediate and extreme action to achieve positive results. And we don't even have sound science on what constitutes a necessary and positive change given that climate changes both occur naturally and consistently irrespective of humanity and there are clear arguments that a warming climate has positive results as well as negative ones.

In short, the term is a naked political deception.
