You mean the Chinese are not wanting to see Disney classics remade with actors that do not fit the actual characters.

Maybe Snow White that is not so white and the 7 Dwarfs that are not Dwarfs will win them over.

Good, F Hollywood. Bunch or narcissistic, hypocritical sociopaths…with very few exceptions.

Also, when Russia and China are starting to call out our woke trash culture, it might be time for a pendulum swing here.

I hope Hollywood stays on this path though because I want them to fail.

You should be doxxed, re-doxxed, reduxed, and reduced! ......reeeeeeee!

Seriously though you're right. The country has been predominately white since its founding. Saying that you enjoy Saving Private Ryan, or like movies that reflect factual demographics in the country, or movies that inspire pride in the USA & those that bled for it is deemed racist, and a whole bunch of other made up words.

LOL, make that recycled product. All they can do is remake old hits because they have no ideas or substance.

The Disney remakes with woke casting choices are really damaging international perception of American cinema.

In the us, they almost get away with it because of all the useful idiots that applaud these asinine casting decisions.

Everything now is remake, reboot, sequel, or based on a comic book, and usually none of them are any good. Even the Marvel movies are not as good compared to the movies from Iron Man to End Game.

Hollywood only has a few original movies every year now.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Most of the critics are part of the virtue signaling circle jerk, where they all approve of the politically correct conformity of their collective ideological peers.

Woke folks, intelligent, but sat in back of class because of quirkyness and actual wierdo ideas, that used to be squashed and they either grew out of it, or were doomed to a life alone. Then liberal teachers began to feel sorry for them and told them they were more important than football players, Ag kids, band kids and student government kids, well rounded kids who made good grades and so they grabbed on to fact no one was going to question them. Then they became powerful-- because good people ran scared of them.

The rest of Hollywood doesn't really need Disney's help damaging their reputation, they can do it all by themselves!

They get away with it because the media in this country has completely abandoned their watch dog charge. They have been completely infiltrated and corrupted and carry the water for the progressives. All the while, young impressionable minds are convinced that all their BS narratives are correct and that anyone who dissents is an "ist" or "phobe" of some kind.

I've said it dozens of times on this board but any "revolution" or "reformation" of any kind in this country will have to start with the media before anything is possible on the political side.

They don't actually believe that. Hilarious how many on here are taking them at their word because it fits their viewpoint.

The Chicoms, like the Russians, love to troll in our culture wars to stir up **** on both sides.

In reality they're just censoring more and more of what their own people are able to see and consume, and Hollywood has become less inclined to cater to their demands by cutting scenes/changing aspects of movies like they have in the past in order to get distribution over there.

Yeah, China decided to start censoring this year. Spending is down 75% compared to 2019 at this point.

Can you point out what scenes and aspects of this year's movies were not cut, thus leading to massive censorship?

LOL that you believe that.

What are you talking about? The Hollywood split with China didn't begin this year. Here's some reading material to help you out.

https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/lifestyle-culture/article/3190279/hollywood-used-bend-over-backwards-china-top-gun

The breakup/reluctance to cater to their censoring demands has been decreasing the last few years along with China breaking away from investing in/influencing Hollywood movies for their home audiences/theaters.

But hey, go ahead and believe the Chicom since it fits your worldview. They always find plenty of marks when they wade into the US culture wars.

Hollywood started reducing their subservience to China during the Trump administration. And it has continued to decline as Biden continues what Trump started.

It's not about censorship. The movies that are over there are not being watched:

Last weekend, "Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One" opened to $25.4 million in China, 66% below the last installment, which opened in 2018. Two Chinese movies topped the charts ahead of the action film.

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" made over $300 million in 2014, but the new "Transformers" barely managed a third of that. "The Fate of the Furious" made over $348 million in 2017, but its latest installment petered out at $120 million.

The Marvel Studios spectacular "Avengers: Endgame" became the highest-grossing American movie in China's history two years later with $629.1 million; the studio's latest release, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" hasn't broken $100 million.

Maybe another factor at play here?

Quote:

You may remember that last December China suddenly dropped its zero-COVID approach and within weeks there was evidence the disease was running rampant through the population. There were multiple reports later the same month about long lines at Chinese crematoriums and overwhelmed funeral homes. There was really no doubt this was happening because international news outlets like Reuters had video.

Quote:

What we did not get, of course, from China was any official count of the number of people who'd died. Well, that's not strictly true. We did get an official number from China in January of nearly 60, 000 additional deaths. Simply put, no one believed that was remotely close to the real number.
Recently, one provincial government posted what appeared to be an accurate figure for the total number of cremations for the first quarter of the year. The figures were quickly pulled down but not before they were noticed.
Quote:

Official data from China offered a rare, but brief, glimpse of the true toll of Covid, indicating that nearly as many people may have died from the virus in a single province earlier this year as Beijing has said died in the mainland during the entire pandemic.

The data was deleted from a provincial government website just days after it was published on Thursday. But epidemiologists who reviewed a cached version of the information said it was the latest indication that the country's official tally is a vast undercount.

The number of cremations in the eastern province of Zhejiang rose to 171,000 in the first quarter of this year, the website said. That was 72,000 more cremations, a roughly 70 percent increase, than had been reported in the same period last year.

Quote:

Again, that estimate is for the first quarter of this year but does not include any deaths from the month of December when zero-Covid was first abandoned. It also doesn't include the first weeks of COVID back in 2020 when China also seemed to be intentionally undercounting. So 1.5 million is really just a floor. Coming up with a more accurate total isn't possible unless someone else actually publishes some more data.
Quote:

By comparison the CDC lists the US death toll at 1.13 million. The overall number is significantly lower but keep in mind that China's population is about four times larger than ours. However, even that may not be a truly fair comparison. As David pointed out recently, the US figures are almost certainly a big overestimate in the sense that the CDC has been counting anyone who had COVID when they died as a COVID death even if the disease wasn't the cause of death.
