Absolutely not.
Worst of all, he is a hardcore Trump supporter and close friend. And as we all know, Trump is an immoral, adulterous, fake Christian, lying jerkwad who is always attacking Desantis from the left. There is only one candidate worth voting for in this election. If he doesn't win the primary, burn it all down imo. Let the godless democrats have it...they will drive us closer and closer towards a hard reset/divorce.

In order for a true pendulum swing of national revival of some sorts to be initiated, we may have to reach much more dark and chaotic times I am afraid.

There is no evidence that he is a "hard core" Trump supporter and "close friend". Trump has NO friends. He only loves himself. We all know that.

You are just making stuff up because you likely dislike Vivek for other reasons.
No, he is a close friend of Kushner and met with Trump at MAL about a year before deciding to run.

You got better evidence than a twitter post quoting a document with no identification?
The meetings with Trump and Kushner aren't really disputed and certainly all of his actions are consistent with a guy that is running as a proxy for Trump. That's not in and of itself a terrible thing but it is a perspective that needs to be kept in mind. His goal is not to win, his goal is to damage DeSantis and to get a reward from Trump. It allows him to go pie in the sky and make wild promises because he knows he will never have to worry about delivering. I like new ideas and think he is a smart guy but he definitely has an agenda. He should be running for Senate or Governor and not President.

I don't know if Vivek is a "friend" of Trump or Kushner any more than you do. We are just picking clues that are convenient to us. Trump and Vivek are a generation apart, so I don't think they are friends. They may have met and had a conversation. Doesn't make him a friend. Even if he is a friend, then so what? What does "friend" actually mean to you?

Time will tell what happens as it looks like Trump will get the nom and has to pick a VP. Vivek says he won't be the VP so for that that's that. Will he change his mind? Maybe.

So you're taking a wanna-be politician (because he's yet to actually serve in any office) solely at his word (because he has no previous actions as a politician to judge by). That's certainly your perogative.

But if Trump wins the nomination and Vivek is selected as his VP or mentioned as a potential cabinet member by Trump, it'll simply be a matter of Vivek changing his mind at that time? There's no way it'll be proof of some sort of collaboration the whole time?

Again, totally your perogative to believe what you will. But you're saying you have 100% confidence that Ramaswamy is not playing at some kind of angle to ultimately help out Trump and get something in return.

No one knows what will happen, only time will tell. Let us see. I don't have any insider info and I don't think you have either. He may well change his mind but I don't think he will. Let us see.

Agreed, but I'm asking, if things shake out so that Trump wins the nomination and he lists Ramaswamy as his choice for a position in his administration and Ramaswamy says he'd accept, will you be willing to entertain the possibility that was their plan the entire time?

Either of the major candidates would be smart to make it clear he will have a spot in their administration.

He'd be a clear upgrade over how many Biden cabinet members?

If you aren't suspicious of someone making billions on a deal like this from Pfizer after the last few years I don't know what to tell you. That's a MAJOR red flag from me. Pfizer is an evil, evil company.

Like I said, there is plenty about Vivek that is promising and makes me want to see where he could go in the future. He needs to start at a lower level though and get a track record. He currently seems to just be a Trump simp to represent him in the Debates and attack DeSantis. He's not a serious candidate and half the time he talks he is basically worshiping Trump.

Beyond that though I also get this from him as well:

I like pretty much everything I hear Vivek say. Dude is sharp. I listened to a podcast in which the first thing the host did was ask him straight up about the Twitter hate he gets from MAGA Twitter:

1 connection to soros: a scholarship he received when he was 22 yrs old was connected to a soros family member and Vivek had no idea about who that was at the time, never met a soros or been connected to a soros ever since

2 a pro-masking tweet he made in April or may of 2020: he admitted he fell into a trap after fauci flip flopped on not wearing one wearing one. when fauci said don't buy them because medial professionals needed them, he thought people should get them

3 he (or a company he ran? or had sold?) was pushing for digital vaccine passports: he denies this

I don't know what to believe. We don't know a ton about this guy. I just know he says all the right things for maga crowd but maga crowd needs some reasons to not trust him.

DeSantis has the benefit of saying the right things, but with a track record and executive experience to go with it. He also has the double-edged sword of experience on one hand, but some of the swampiness that comes with being in dc as a congressman before. A poorly run campaign (so far) and having the Ryan / Bush side of GOP as your biggest backers isn't helping him right now.

I'd love to see all these guys debate.

Its silly and shortsighted to base someone's "swampiness" based solely on the fact that they've been in politics prior to this election. By that measure Trump is also a swamp creature. Also by that measure can we assume you advocate for every politician being limited to one term only on the national level? I mean, otherwise any politician must be "swampy" if they're seeking re-election after previously spending time in D.C., right?

If you think Desantis is swampy just because he served previously in Congress then I'm sorry but you need to take time to really look into his actual record.

And if you think Desantis' campaign is poorly ran then again, you're not looking beyond the superficial headlines put out by Democrat/Trump mouthpieces.

And every politician says all the right things. That's nothing special about Ramaswamy. In fact that's all he does.

Ryan/Bush have nothing to do with DeSantis' campaign, they are all over Trump's though. DeSantis was one of the very few Congressman that stood up to Ryan and didn't vote for him for Speaker when everyone else did. Ryan hates him for it and his stances on cultural issues. Ryan just hates Trump more because Trump has gotten very personal with him and he knows Trump is incompetent. The Bush thing is even weaker, DeSantis has no connection there at all. He has also derided how W had his butt in Iraq trying to create a Democracy when that isn't the job of the military.

DeSantis has a 99.36% Lifetime voting record in the House. That's better than Rand Paul or Mike Lee. He helped found the Freedom Caucus. His best buddies are Thomas Massie and Chip Roy. His record as FL Governor is the most conservative of any politician in my lifetime.

Sorry but the lying just really gets old.

Interesting. Vivek talks all the time about securing the border and the difference between legal immigration and illegal immigration. From the article:

Ramaswamy did argue that the U.S. should seek changes from the other countries before re-entering the TPP deal:

"I think that I can use the leverage of the fact that we did exit it to be able to say, "All right, here's what we need done differently in a number of the countries from Japan down," to be able to say here's how we re-enter that on that fairer terms. And so that's what I'd like to see … That puts us in a strong position from a trade perspective to then take a look at where we stand vis-a-vis China. So I could go on for hours on this one."

"There is an anti-legal immigration current [mood among voters] … I'm going to be on the debate stage in a month, and if anybody has any qualms with this, I think I'm gonna have a real problem with that because merit-based immigration is one of the fixes to economic growth in this country."

This one perplexes me a bit. Unless I'm hopelessly out of touch with the American electorate, I don't think there's any huge groundswell against LEGAL immigration, other than to keep it to a controllable and sustainable level.

The only people I can think of that might be anti-legal immigration are the libs who don't even believe there should BE a border or any sort of deterrent to "hey just come right on over, the more the merrier"

That fact just reaffirms to me the Trump supporters who feel drawn to Ramaswammy as an alternative aren't truly concerned with policies or accomplishing agendas. What they're really attracted to is personality and appearances and being spoonfed what they want to hear.

Once Trump is gone they'll move on to the next non-typical politician who dazzles them with catchy phrases and pandering. Not really that different from a typical politician, but since this person will be an "outsider" the herd will latch onto him and claim it as a rebellious act against the machine/swamp/establishment.

Flip flops again.

Quote:

GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called Juneteenth a "useless" holiday during a campaign event with voters in Iowa on Saturday.

Ramaswamy's remarks, first reported by NBC News, come after he celebrated the holiday earlier this year on June 19, saying it is about honoring how far the country has come and how people can advance through hard work, commitment and dedication.
