New firearm control bill is 'real bad news for Massachusetts gun owners' says gun group

"If Massachusetts makes House Docket 4420 law, Massachusetts will become the most anti-gun state in the country," Austin Hein, the director of political operations for the National Association for Gun Rights, told Fox News.

The 140-page omnibus bill, An Act of Modernizing Firearm Laws, makes sweeping changes to Massachusetts gun laws. This includes mandating that all firearms and feeding devices be registered, banning people under 21 from buying or carrying a semi-automatic shotgun or rifle, banning concealed carry of firearms on private property unless expressly permitted and much more.

The bill also cracks down on firearm-adjacent areas including banning targets with human silhouettes at ranges, banning people under the age of 18 from possessing mace or pepper spray and adding stun guns under the definition of firearms.

Should be a super easy case to strike it down, right?

I get that the left's goal is constant confusion - but with obvious and numerous constitutional violations, getting this struck down should be a layup.

Sounds like it's similar to some of the **** our previous president allowed nationally.

It should not take that long. We need fast tracks to SCOTUS where any of the Justices can bring a new state law or federal law to the court and at least place an injunction on enforcement until it can be ruled on.

The descendants of the fiery revolutionaries and steadfast patriots that drove Gage out of Boston and staked their lives to ending tyranny will meekly accept this.

The bill should be renamed the "Criminal Protection Act".

Also, the folks committing the crime, don't care what the law says, that's why they're criminals.

Democrats trying to create felons of ordinary law abiding citizens while letting actual felons go free without prosecution.

I have no doubt in my mind how this ends.

It wasn't so much that hit rates were up, but that soldiers were more willing to actually engage the targets instead of either pretending to fire or purposely missing. There's a good overview of this topic and the history of soldiers not actually engaging in combat in either On Killing or On Combat (can't remember which one), both excellent books by Rex Grossman.

I lived in MA in 2008. Most of this is already law.

Handguns have to be registered already. Human silhouettes weren't allowed when I was there.
