Photos Show Bud Light With Costco 'Death Star' Amid Plummeting Sales

Quote:

Photos shared on social media show that Bud Light has allegedly received Costco's so-called "star of death"a small asterisk at the top right-hand corner of items' price tags which the retailer uses to signal a product will no longer be restocked once it is sold out.

Images shared on Twitter showed the price tags for Bud Light beer at different Costco stores, all marked with the "star of death." It's unclear where the stores are located. One of the pictures shows the beer being sold at $14.97 for a 2 x 12 pack, which a Twitter user said was Costco "practically giving away Bud Light."

The photos were shared as the boycott against Bud Light by conservative customers angered by a sponsorship deal with trans activist and influencer Dylan Mulvaney earlier this year continues, with a significant negative impact on the brand.

Where the hell is this at? I was buying Shiner yesterday in Pearland and BL was still $12-$13 bucks for a 12 pack and $24 or so for a case. I haven't seen any price reduction at all

From the article:

Quote:

"I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me but they never did and for months now I've been scared to leave my house," Mulvaney said in a video posted to Instagram and TikTok at the end of June after weeks of silence. "For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse in my opinion than not hiring a trans person at all."

It says Bud Light Platinum, which I think technically a separate product from the ****** fluid we all know and love. It has a higher alcohol content and a few more calories.

edit - So if my car has ****** problems, I can't get help for it because that word is now censored?

As long as you're making a trip - make it worth while and rearrange a box or two of feminine hygiene products onto those cases.

Let me get this straight, you boycott Anheuser Busch's brand Bud Light and Modelo gets promoted to the number 1 beer spot. Anheuser Busch owns 100 percent of Modelo! You're saying it's the brand Bud Light's fault and not Anheuser Busch's fault. Anheuser Busch is the head of the snake….fire away.

The parks seem to have plenty of folks willing to pour money in - whether their operating expenses and new Florida relationship change the other side of that equation, though, may be a factor.

What IS a big deal for Disney, though, is their movie flops. They've ruined IP's and studios that they spent HUGE to acquire. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Pixar (Elemental, Lightyear, Turning Red), and then bombed with their own stuff like The Little Mermaid & Strange World.

The only reason to have Disney+ at this point is to stream Bluey.

They've ruined their reputation as a "family friendly" brand among many parents who overlooked more innocuous subversions in previous decades.

The death star doesn't mean it wont be restocked - it just means that particular SKU won't be restocked. Let's say a brand is changing packaging - it could get the death star because the SKU number is changing.

What has happened to Bud Light should energize and motivate conservatives and all sane people. We really do have tremendous power through the boycott. Need to start targeting twisted liberal companies and their products with extreme prejudice. We are blessed in America to have an almost unimaginable amount of choices for just about every product under the sun. We need to start supporting those who don't engage in cancerous woke ideology and trying to kill off those that do. It's a long uphill battle, but I like what I am seeing lately.

The BL boycott isn't so much about harming AB as it is a warning to any corporation that wants to venture into wokeness. It has done an amazing job of killing one of if not the most popular beer brands in the world. Companies that have a large conservative customer base will hopefully take note and stay the hell out of politics or cultural battles. That is what most of us want.

Modelo in the US is sold and distributed by Constellation Brands, not Transheiser-Busch.

The goal shouldn't be general boycotts, but rather a fear in board rooms of engaging in woke/broke-roulette. Win strategic battles decisively.

Circle K always has outstanding BL prices which was amazing as it was the closest place to buy beer to my house.

That's the point of such boycotts...hit their revenue streams hard. There need to be more, and they need to make serious dents. I am sure what happened to Bud Light (and a few others) has gotten the attention of many board room execs. Desantis has been fighting them head on too and getting their attention.

That's interesting. In the US the Modelo brand and distribution is owned by Constellation Brands, but outside the US it's owned by In-Bev. But who owns the production? In-Bev? Corona brand is the same, or similar.

When the fiasco first started and I wanted to make sure I was not giving another dime to AB-InBev, a friend of mine pointed out that when InBev bought Groupo Modelo that owns Corona, Modelo, Pacifico, etc they made them divest their US sales and distribution. Constellation Brands ended up with the rights to those products and the newest brewery in the Groupo Modelo lineup. Apparently Constellation has permanent rights to brew and distribute Modelo and the other products in the US and are free of InBev control and financial compensation.
