I prefer Trump over Ron.

I also can't stand Donald junior hence I wont vote for Trump due to his dumbass son.

Leaning toward Kennedy.

Kennedy really ****ed up not running as a Republican, he would at the worst be in 3rd place right now.

Yeah, hold that thought.

You think the fix isn't in for the Dems? There won't be a challenge unless the powers that be signal the bullpen. I think that's coming - the war drums are beating. But it won't be JFK Jr.

On the Republican side, state rule changes are being attempted all over the place to exclude Trump. It's the only hope the RINO GOP has - to disallow him from running.

Two polarizing figures, from opposites sides, each pushed out of their party's primary. Makes me laugh at what could happen next.

Debate talking points on the wall…

"The Trump administration say they've completed more than 400 miles of border wall since then.
It's 452 miles (727 km) in total, according to the latest US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) information (4 January 2021).
However, only 80 miles of new barriers have been built where there were none before - that includes 47 miles of primary wall, and 33 miles of secondary wall built to reinforce the initial barrier.
The vast majority of the 452 miles is replacing existing structures at the border that had been built by previous US administrations.
President Trump has argued that this should be regarded as new wall, because it's replacing what he called "old and worthless barriers."

LOL. Yeah, riiight.

The only Kennedy who might have been able to run as a Republican, died in a plane crash in 1999.

And DeSantis couldn't do any of those things if he got in the White House?

He might. He is just not proven to be able as is Trump.
But he HAS been able to win more than 1 election ever...

Trump won in 2020.

And there it is. Cult45 still can't see that their hero is hated by more than half of the country.

More legit votes than anybody in history. Lotta people love Trump.

I still say anything could happen. Usually, the worst possible candidate wins. Only exception I can think of is 2016, when the third worst candidate won.

The only Kennedy that could be a Republican today was killed in Dallas. JFK had a view on the economy that would relate to the Republican Party of today more today than the Democratic Party. Kennedy proposed a tax cut designed to help spur economic growth. Kennedy also believed that tax cuts would help stimulate consumer demand, which in turn would lead to higher economic growth, lower unemployment and increased federal revenues. JFK hated communism on June 26, 1963 Kennedy gave one of the most preeminent anti-communist addresses ever heard. JFK was also Pro-Life as he stood behind being Pro-Life as a true Catholic. He also supported the 2nd Amendment but also big about staying true to the constitution and limited government.

Extending from my above post, I'm really legit curious what Trump's ground game is right now. We've heard that Desantis is running a strong ground game and even seen some of the materials he's putting out.

But what is the Trump campaign doing right now, at least in those early primary states? Are they hitting the mailers and door knockers and social media campaign as hard as Desantis is?
no one knows more about the ground game than Scott Pressler who has devoted his life to it

don't take my word for it-

go follow his Twitter and Instagram where he berates Ronna McDaniel (Trump's pick) and the Trump campaign for their lack of a ground game.

I read two articles today about Desantis' tactics.

One was about his fundraising. How he's eschewing the usual fundraising route (the article was contrasting him to Trump's campaign) of constant bombardment for donations from the average individual givers. He's not threatening potential doom if they don't constantly donate. He's not trying to make them feel guilty for abandoning him. Or making ridiculous promises (our campaign will match your donation 1,000%!!). In short, he's trying to not turn them off by coming across like a grifter.

The second article was focused on his campaign utilizing different methods for different demographics. Social media for younger people but mailers and door to door for the older generation. They seem to be covering all of their bases.

They were both encouraging to read. If Desantis fails I'm not sure it'll be for any reason other than the hypnotic hold Trump has over his base. The looming (obvious) question mark over the whole election is the size of Trump's base, IMO.

go to the Official Desantis Trump thread where we have posted numerous news articles about the DeSantis GOTV ground campaign and strategy

So Breitbart is citing fake news CNBC, which cites a "spokeperson" that says he's considering a change, but the spokersperson says "No he's not considering a change."

So much of the "News" industry is based off of Trump. Is there some push from the Democrats for Trump because he is beatable? Sure, but I think so much of it has to do with your point. Trump drives a LOT of views and clicks from both sides. Covering him is an industry. Lose him and a lot of people are out of jobs.

Frankly, they need to be.

Don't believe he's ready? ready for what? To compete against Biden?

Trump folks love to talk about Griffin from all angles in regards to DeSantis. Griffin hates Trump and has some shady history and lots of money and he likes to be a source. He's perfect for them. Griffin has a love/hate with DeSantis because he knows he is the best chance to beat Trump so he gives him money but he also really doesn't like DeSantis style and He REALLY doesn't like that DeSantis won't give him his private cell phone or special access. DeSantis attitude is he stands for what he does and he is happy to get your support but he isn't going to kiss your ass and he isn't going to change his positions. He really is one of the few guys that would rather stick to his principles and fight for what he believes in and lose rather than sell out just to win.

That's just completely foreign to most people in politics. They keep expecting it to be a schtick but it isn't. They keep looking for him to be the slimy dude but he isn't. He's not perfect by and stretch but he is true to himself and is pretty damn transparent. Trump tries to act like he is but in reality he will shift like the wind on virtually any issue if it helps him get a W, he's a dealmaker. DeSantis is an idealist but he is also pragmatic. Just a very unusual politician and honestly the perfect embodiment of a Gen Xer just as much as Trump is a perfect embodiment of a Boomer.

Desantis being "not ready" seems to be code for "Trump has our undying loyalty and Desantis was supposed to wait until Trump can no longer serve." In many of their minds, Trump is owed and deserves to get back in the White House so he can own the libs and get revenge for them on anyone not maga.

That's what it all boils down to at this point.

Youngkin isn't going to enter the race because he would lose. You have to prepare for these things a long ways out. I mean the NYT is such a great source for what is going on inside the GOP though otherwise. lol
