The young people you mention have been dealing with it as a part of daily life. All of the woke nonsense has been socially enforced on the youth for their entire lives.
I'm glad older generations have finally realized what's been done; however, that attitude of "oh well I'm close to retirement so I'm not going to do anything about it, good luck with that" is weak. As a generation, you allowed this hijacking of society but don't feel any need to try and correct it? Even from a completely selfish viewpoint, do you really think this stuff will just stop affecting you after age 65?
You know what they say, "weak men create hard times.."
The only thing I can do is vote with my money and vote on election day. That's my contribution.
What else would you have me do? Raise a stink and get canned. Not gonna happen. That won't change a darn thing. Nobody wants to hire old people, especially someone who is not going to conform with corporate insanity now.
But which heaven?AggieMD95 said:Logos Stick said:

Yeah I know, dear diary.
Now woke priest says you can go to heaven
The problem with "anonymous" is that there is no such thing as anonymous, especially when it goes against what the company is supporting 100%.DD88 said:
Blast them in the "anonymous" surveys.
If they have some type of Speak-Up program, challenge them to uphold religious liberties and seek more of a balance in HR.
Ask them when they will include protecting religious liberties in the "diversity" training.
Remind them of the recent SCOTUS decisions (Creative 303, Groff), especially if the company is opposing religious freedom legislation in various local, state, or national levels.
That is nonsensical. She's a liar or is incompetent.Bird Poo said:
I'm becoming convinced that DEI is a corporate strategy to pay people lower.
I'm looking at an internal position within my company and it's a lateral move. Reached out to the recruiter and she responded with a small lecture about equity, and would not commit to keeping my current pay even though it's the same job grade. I'm more than qualified and it's total BS.

They will eventually find out.

I remember in my college business classes discussing corporations' responsibility for sustainability as they saw corporations as being part of the community and, if they were completely honest, could use that as an advantage to build brand loyalty.
The problem is it leads to the inevitable if you chase public perception to help build your company - you become beholden to what the community thinks and believes, which can shift with the wind.
I think that is the root cause of DEI - companies focusing more on how they are perceived rather than trying to continually make the best possible product they can.
Add in capital being ESG dependent from capital investors and lenders and you've got yourself a mess.
You should have seen the calendars the tool companies printed for several decades (until the mid-late 80's IIRC) and were hanging up in industrial workplaces all across the country.Urban Ag said:
My first real job was working at a rock mining plant. At the shop they had every Playboy Playmate centerfold stapled on the wall going back to the early 70's. This was 1992 so it was quite a collection.

Workers have more power in this than they know.
I know of a recent DEI training in an oilfield company where the presenter ended up in tears and the workers walked out.
If you have an office job, you might get cancelled. If you are a roughneck they aren't running you and all your buddies off.
You're old bro, have fun. Just let out a fart every time they say the word equity. Not a loud one, just loud enough that they wonder if it was a fart or someone shifting in their chair.Logos Stick said:P.H. Dexippus said:

I haven't sat through a pronoun one, but I know I am not going to be able to help myself from asking what other things the company thinks they can mandate that I play pretend about in order to placate some other adult they seem to think garners more respect for their choices than I do.Logos Stick said:

This. You need to create resistance among the staff and then leave. It is toxic and will require active resistance to prevent the practice.Buck Turgidson said:

DEI management training was horrible when i worked for a European company. Now I work for Japanese company and not a peep about equity, microagressions, etc. They do push diversity, but is in in the context of don't be biased, as you might miss out on a great productive employee.
