I just erased a paragraph I wrote about my grandfather and his experience during and post WWII. Instead of his story just think of your own examples.

Every year or two they're going to need to add a new stripe.

You gotta be digging deep when you claim "violence" against people with disabilities and need to claim suffering and protest. It's not like we have the ADA, handicap spots, and a while host of other accommodations for people with disabilities to be inclusive of them.

We celebrate Down Syndrome awareness day on March 21st as my son has the diagnoses.

We've never heard of this "Month"

We will have so many flags, and divisions of America, we will soon wave the white flag.

I'd support this more if they went with 1980s Voltron instead of a zig zag pride flag.

It's like they had a pride flag and zigzagged it up to make it more disabled looking/

My son is legally blind with a rare retinal disease. His identity will be the same and can call your son a fellow brother in Christ one day.

I fully expected Biden to add 2 more months to the calendar simply because we need more months for victims.

I recently rode the SB250 bike ride from McAllen to San Antonio. It raises money for spina-bifida in TX.

I was fortunate enough to have a dinner and lunch with the namesake of the foundation the ride supports.

I can tell you from those couple of hours with her and her interactions with others that she does not want her disability celebrated, nor does she take pride in it. She wants to be treated as normally as possible and for people to not feel sorry for her.

Unless someone is seeking victim status, I'm guessing most people feel similar.

I had an older brother who passed away two years ago tomorrow at the age of 72. He was an rH baby, more commonly known as erythroblastosis fetalis. In 1978 or so, DuPont hired him as a machinist trainee. From what my Mom said, they hired him because he 'fit' what they were needing from a disability perspective, i.e., filling a quota. He ended up retiring from DuPoint about 10 years ago with a million dollars in his 401K. Candidly, it irked me the circumstances of his hire, but in the end it worked out well for him. And though he could have claimed 'victim' status, he never did that in all the years I knew him. Way to go Tom.
