I subscribe to lots of city subreddits and I see posts about people wishing to relocate out of Texas for these same reasons quite often. Seeing one begging for money is a first for me, though.

Kids have a big tendency to rebel against going any direction they are pushed to go as they grow older. If parents lay off the pressure, set a good example, and let kids choose for themselves, they generally end up following the general pattern of their parents. But if the parents are overbearing, try to decide things for them, and forbid them from doing things, the kids will seek to go against them as a form of rebellion against that control. Why do you think there is such an accurate stereotype about preacher's daughters?

This has not been my life experience or observation at all. Almost every son or daughter of a preacher/elder I know is a great morally upright person. The loosest are generally daughters of liberals or super hands off parents or those without father altogether.

I kind of agree with you to some extent on your overall point, but most libs I know personally had lib parents.

Meh, to every rule there is an exception. I know some preacher's kids that were real straight arrows, but I know more that were not. Keep in mind, that is how they were as teenagers, not necessarily how they are as adults. Also depends on the preacher too. The stricter the preacher, the more likely the kids were to rebel against it in my experience.

They could catch a ride with the illegals we are sending up to New York.

Due to the condition of the house and a whole slew of other things going on, it was about 15k less than Harris county says it appraised for. Now she did this 1) before she told me and 2) despite my apprehension and wanting to get a realtor involved, I think for her it was probably the best she was going to get. Old house, needed a large amount of work done to fix up and she didn't have the money for and since this was all due to my father passing suddenly she wanted the fastest option to get out. Importantly she was happy with everything, and from what she told me and what I was able to sit in on it was a pretty smooth process. End of the day, if my moms happy then I'm happy for her.
She basically lives with my brother for free up in Kingwood and got a good chunk of change from the deal.
