"I" passed the training because of his answers. He didn't miss a single question. He watched all the stupid videos and read the slides and answered the questions.

What is happening to this society when US companies are requiring stupid "training" that an elementary kid can pass?
And provided a lesson on Outsourcing/Subcontracting 101.
Well played dad.

Simple because the company just wants to be able to say, "The company had all the employees complete the sexual harassment training so you can't sue us" or ""Now I want that lower insurance policy".

They can show in a court that you took the courses and had the knowledge should you or anyone else file a lawsuit against them regarding the subject material and claim ignorance of policy.

It's basically legal cover.

Yep
This

Meanwhile many small companies never do this training and when employees feel they are harassed, they just leave the company and get another job.

My favorite HR training was during my time with a British company. They had these fun little cartoon scenarios about appropriate workplace interaction.

Patting a coworker on the upper back, shoulder (as if to say good job, etc)… I selected the "Caution, may not be appropriate" and was promptly informed that the correct answer was "Not allowed".

So the next question involved tickling a coworker in the rib area. Well, you bet I selected "Not allowed". And missed that question as the appropriate answer was "Caution, may not be appropriate".

Been out of corporate world 15 years. Don't miss the Human ****** training whatsoever.

It's not training, it's simply SHOWING THE LAWYERS that you understand what corporate policies are.

I have these at work also.

HR lady showed me how to click the videos in such a way to watch them in 1-2 seconds. There are no barriers in place to prevent that and no timers to prevent corner-cutting. You just have to complete the "training".

HR lady has 20 years with the company and we regularly talk about how this stuff is such BS. It's a productivity killer.

as mentioned, this is all driven by lawyers, since we live in such a litigious society these things have to happen. The reason people don't think highly of these programs is because it insults the intelligence of most in the company. There is some level of the workforce that probably do need this level of education. Like when Costanza had sex with the cleaning lady in the office. "Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?"

I wouldn't expose my kid to the "harassment in the workplace" annual training we have to take. It's filled with LGBTQ and non-binary weirdos acting like victims.

These things are so patronizing, I can't stand it.

It wasn't the sexual harassment HR course was it?

Thanks for reminding me what I have to do tomorrow.

You have to go sexually harass someone?
Which is difficult to do because somebody else decides if it sexual harrassment or not.

Those tests aren't designed to test competency, they are designed to test whether or not the person answering the questions actually watched the the material presented, because whoever assigned that material believed it was important for the watcher to understand.

Since your 11 year old watched the material and read all the slides it sounds like the tests performed exactly as as intended. So if we are making judgments on society based on the test, I would say job well done by the test creators for meeting their objective.

What does it say about society that we have employees with so little respect for their employers that instead of watching materials assigned by the employer they have their 11 year old children watch the materials instead? Maybe just find another job or start your own business and be your own boss if you think your employer is such a joke.

I'm pretty sure most collegiate level sociology classes have tests that could be passed by kids in middle school.
Without a doubt. I placed out of 3 hours of Sociology with an "A" by simply viewing each multiple choice question thru an oppressor/victim lens with the obvious oppressors being white males and victims being women and minorities. That was in 1989.

My thought as I did these was always...

"They are paying me to do this...At this moment, this is most important thing that Michael Dell could come up with for me to do."

..and then I make sure that I am leaving the parking lot at 5pm.
