Trump had plenty of support from Republicans. This whole rewrite of what happened is so... Trump. Sure, McCain was a doo-sh, but McCain wasn't all of Congress. Obamacare wasn't repealed because Trump didn't care that much about it.

I present this as evidence as to why he couldn't hold a team together. He's the victim of the greatest political crime in our history.

This is why. Conspiracies and lies are not "harmless" to the victims. These poll workers in Georgia had their lives turned upside down and were threatened by right wing conspiracy theorists. And Trump pushed those lies. These lies aren't harmless. Trump's no victim. He's the perp. And those that support him are too.

He is an absolute threat to the cozy uniparty of Washington DC. Total outsider who does not play their many decades old game. Thinks like a businessman and not like a politician. Calls a spade a spade. Not given to saying what people want to hear. Says what he thinks without filters. People don't like him because they can't handle it. They may have even longed for someone like him for years but when he arrives they don't want what they thought they wanted. They are so used to politicians who lie to them so as not to offend sensibilities, their sensibilities can't handle him. Consequently, people have an immediate love or hate reaction to him.

Pssst, you forgot that He's a Proven Warrior!

Pardon me. Yes, he is surely the Proven Warrior. Glad to see that stuck where it was meant to, under your skin.

I mean, he was mired in a slanderous 2-year investigation that the perpetrators knew was fake news after 2 weeks. How is that not a terrible hand?
Compared to Bush with hurricanes and 911? Obama with the birther movement? Dang Trump had it rough

The birther movement?? Are you daft, mate? The nation's top law enforcement agency unethically drug out an investigation for two years while members of the opposing party told horrific lies lent a veneer of truth by their positions on intelligence committees. You trying to tell me that a bunch of Bubbas screaming "Obama is a Kenyan!" is anywhere close to that?

"There are none more blind than those who can't see"! They can't even look around and see who they are aligned with. Their demoralization is complete.

Part of his agenda was trying to pass amnesty for the dreamers, thankfully the conservatives in the freedom caucus shut that down.

And with only 52 Republican members in the Senate, there is really nothing you can do without democratic support.
IMHO the bold above needs to remind people that what they consider control is in reality not. The Democratic Party votes almost entirely as a block and does deny the passage of legislation.

But it'd be different this time with the way he's attacking conservatives and RINOS.

He's a threat to this country....also...let's not forget that. He brings out the worst in all of us...
He who? The President that
  • ended the Caliphate in a matter of months after Obama said it was impossible.
  • had the lowest unemployment rates, ever or in decades, across all categories.
  • was instrumental in three Middle East Peace treaties.
  • did not start any new wars.
  • lowered income taxes that benefited the middle class more than any other income group(eliminated the unfair Estate Tax, or Death Tax)
  • before COVID had manufacturing returning to this country after Obama said it was impossible.
  • took on China's unfair trade practices with moderate success.
  • brought energy independence to this country.
above is a very short list.

And I didn't even use whataboutisms.

That may be true, seems very likely. I just get tired of all the bull**** responses about Trump that are out and out lies(not pointing at you).

Understand and agree.... my issue with Trump isn't what he was - he did a great job as president - it's what he is now.... ab old man that will never be able to build consensus as he continues attacking his own like minded people.

You may be correct and that is a concern based on President Trump's actions and rhetoric.
