He's out of his mind but not in a Biden way, just way over confident and really believes in 24 hours after being elected the Chinese and Russian problems will be solved.

Only if you live in an orange colored world.

Everyone else knows it is not going to happen.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Voted for him in prior elections but he came across unhinged in this interview. Had to change the channel.

No surprise as it's part of his professional grift. He was something new the first time but there's no second act as the voting public are savvy to his ways.

Trump will never be president again. (But I'll have to throw my vote away on him if he's the nominee anyway).

Yep !

The only thing worse than a Trumper is a demorat lecturing us about Trump. Hey demorats, you gave us the global joke that is Biden. You are in no position to lecture us about anything. So get lost.

The only way I back Trump is if he runs against a demorat. Hopefully DeSantis blows him out of the water before I have to stoop that low.

The reality is for Trump to win his best strategy is a Biden like campaign where he hides out in MAL and does as little speaking as possible outside of events that favor him. Going to East Palestine. The setup of the CNN Town Hall. Seeing him be indicted and playing the victim.

Most people aren't seeing what he is posting on Truth Social because it only has his hardcore base there. When he does an interview like this or some of those events he did in Iowa with a small crowd that asks him real questions he does not look good. The excuses come out and he looks old.

The difference with Trump and Biden is Biden was perfectly happy to hide out in the basement and speak as little as possible and the press covered for him. Trump won't stay caged up forever, he craves that attention too much and can't shut up. The only question is how long he can keep it bottled up. I am convinced that most people backing him (not the hardcore types that think it's awesome for him to come up with new nicknames) haven't really watched him lately. As they do Trump is going to remind them of all the things they didn't like and he does a great job of making people that might otherwise feel sympathy for him go, "Yeah, I don't like the political prosecution but that guy just needs to go away and play golf and hope his viagra works with Melania".

We will see.

I'm interested on the take of hawg and other lawyers on what they would do if their client who is under multiple indictments decided to give an interview like this where he just spoke his mind and contradicted some of his other statements. Is Trump trying to have more lawyers quit I assume?

You don't have to be a lawyer to know that everyday is Shut The **** Up Friday, especially when you've been indicted.

With the gag order in place? Pulling my hair out. I have had very hard to control clients who did stupid things against my advice. Never to this level though.

But OTOH, I also do not appreciate the gag order only going one way and DOJ and Special Counsel can leak to their heart's content. That really sucks that the gag...er..."protective order"...only goes to one party.

I'd like to know what the topics of the Biden documents were. We'll never know the truth because everything is classified and we can't see a damn thing.

I listened to it on my commute home. Pretty good on foreign policy, but incoherent rambling elsewhere. Not that impressive, but didn't plan on building a railway over the Indian Ocean, so there is that, I guess...

I thought he really looked bad - old and tired. He sounded a lot better than he looked though.

This is the first time I've listened to him where I really felt he came across as a con-man. His discussion of the records he kept and his subsequent actions and indictment just didn't come across as credible to me.

His comments on people who used to work for him that he's subsequently thrown under the bus came off as very disingenuous.

His time has come and gone. He needs to get out of the race and endorse somebody - preferably DeSantis .Unfortunately for the country I see him going scorched earth on DeSantis .

It's always just going to be about himself.

How can he? Really when lawfare on BS charges against POTUS candidates can get everyone out of a primary or general election? That does not end with just Trump. It will be employed against an Republican forever more.

I linked before but these prosecutors are never punished and land 7 figure deals with law firm for service to "the cause."

Cute troll retort but the reality is that the GOP and conservative courts will be lost with loser donald as the nominee and four more years for democrats in the WH. The quicker the trumpers come to that understanding, the better.

My hope is this ends up with Trump realizing that while he is being persecuted he also did a few dumb things that have guilty of at least some of what he is being charged with and he realizes that his best case is to decide he has to drop out to fight it and supports DeSantis with the promise of a pardon. Everyone wins there because it forces Trump to give DeSantis a legit endorsement and his supporters to go along else Trump will die in jail under Biden/Newsom. They will of course go after DeSantis but DeSantis is a much, much tougher nut to crack on multiple levels starting with the fact he is a Harvard attorney himself and he is very careful about what he says and does and especially who he trusts. That also allows Trump to be the martyr and to gain the appreciation of even a lot of folks that don't like him for doing so.

Or he can just burn everything down and end up in jail and put a Democrat in the WH who will destroy whatever is left of the country. We will see.

He cannot. And by not dropping out he is protecting DeSantis, and any GOP nominee going forward.

How can you not see that?

Except he did.

You really need to call your baws that refuse to make public records "public" via open records requests, to tell then to release those records and PROVE there were no issues with the elections.

But they won't. YOU tell me why they refuse.

I understand what you are saying but if he stays in he loses. He either loses in the primary and then his endorsement of DeSantis comes from a position of weakness but still is ok. Or he wins the primary and loses in the General and goes to jail for the rest of his life with no one that can save him.

If he endorses DeSantis then DeSantis at least has a very good chance of winning. He has massive advantages over Biden on just about every front. If it is Newsom (which I think it will be) he just has to make the argument of California vs Florida. DeSantis has a real plan for actually reforming the DOJ and he can say he can stick with the idea of one form of justice. Worst case DeSantis decides to pardon both Trump and Biden and say it is a reset which will piss off a lot of folks but the reality is Biden is likely to die in the next few years anyway.

You have to pick your battles but in the end if you don't win the war it's irrelevant. Trump cannot win or his chances of winning are very, very long and if he loses it's absolutely devastating for everyone.

Friends. Trump did nothing wrong. At what point does one decide to raid an ex president"s house over some document dispute. Subpoena and let the litigation run its course. Clearly political and Garland and his team are thugs. Abuse of power. Trump should have used his DOJ to go after Clinton and he looked the other way. Do not be nice to your enemies.

Biden's documents have yet to be reviewed and determine who may have had access. Horrible management on his part. Clinton deliberately destroyed documents.
