Do you know if he is telling the truth or not? It's a rather bold claim to state he is lying without some type of evidence.

Biden and Hunter make love to each other ahd have gay sechs. Prove they don't.

I hope you understand how stupid that ask is.
Actually, it isn't. Its against the board rules to spread rumors and unconfirmed/false information.

It's probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard anyone say. I think it's safe to assume he's lying. We don't need evidence.
So you dont have evidence?

I gave you specific facts and you ignored them. My info on gun violence is extremely fact based. Answer my post above.
The statement contains some accurate information but also some incorrect assumptions and generalizations. Let's break it down:

[ol]
  • "Rifles of all kinds account for approximately 2% of all gun deaths a year."
This statistic is generally accurate. According to available data, rifles, including all types of rifles, typically account for a relatively small percentage of overall gun-related deaths in the United States.
  • "There are 15,000 Americans killed by gun violence per year, though the number is up substantially since Covid to 20,000."
The initial figure of 15,000 deaths caused by gun violence per year is closer to the historical average.
  • "That means that about 400 Americans per year die from rifles of any kind."
If we assume that rifles account for approximately 2% of all gun deaths, it would mean that around 2% of 15,000 deaths (or 20,000 deaths, as mentioned) are attributed to rifles. This estimate would be approximately 300 to 400 deaths, which aligns with the statement. However, the AR-15 is a symbol of the gun culture in the United States. That is a larger part of the overall problem.
  • "There are over 20,000,000 AR-15's in America."
It is impossible to independently verify the precise number of AR-15 rifles in circulation in the United States.
  • "If these weapons were the problem, there would be 5.56 casings everywhere."
The presence or absence of casings cannot be used as a direct indicator of the impact of a specific type of firearm on gun violence. Many factors, such as gun regulations, usage patterns, and crime rates, influence the presence of casings or other evidence at crime scenes.

Biden made the statement. It's up to HIM to provide the evidence...otherwise it's just his conjecture...

It was correct what prior poster said. That has nothing to do with whether or not AR-15s should be banned.

I appreciate the response and we're generally on the same page with regard to the statistics. The real question in my mind is this:

Know those statistics why does the anti-gun movement and the political class spend ALL of their energy trying to get rid of a weapon that is used in 2% of the gun violence in this country? Why do they frame it as an AR15 problem instead of a gang violence problem? As I said earlier they're using gang violence numbers to scare people into thinking we have a gun problem. We don't. We have a gang violence problem and it's incredibly obvious removing all AR15 won't do anything substantial to fix it.

Another interesting spin is that the anti-gun crowd is in good company. Stalin. Mao. Pol Pot. Hitler. All murderous dictators that knew they had to disarm the opposition before they could kill them. Those four men were responsible for approximately 80 MILLION deaths in the 20th Century. It would take America's gang bangers over 6000 years to catch them.

Guns aren't the problem and the AR is definitely not the problem. I carry a handgun because I'm worried about street violence. I own AR's because I'm worried about government. Likewise they want to take my AR's because they know it's the best weapon for me to fight back. No other conclusion fits the data at hand.
A fearful society is a compliant society. That's why Democrats and criminals prefer their victims to be unarmed. Gun Control is not about guns, it's about control.

To take your point even further, that 2% figure is all rifles. The AR is only one of those, yet the scariest of scary guns to gunophobes.

    C'mon, man!

Everyone knows that in NY and Philly that vans pull up to the curb to sell their AR-15's like Sno-Cones.

But in Chicago, they still have to go to Indiana to get their guns.
