Only speaking for myself, I singled it out simply because the tweet was in regard to a Catholic bishop.

But, to your point, yes, there are many others that dance around it as well. I agree.

I could understand if
1. During the sermon, the priest lectured on the sins of gay sex
2. They promoted the hell out of "repentance" over "acceptance".

But, I think the chances of that happening are close to zero.

I'm not sure about it popularity but it is correct.

As an Orthodox we are not quite so legalistic so I may not be able to best articulate a Catholic/Protestant legal perception.

I was at a Catholic wedding a few weeks ago where the same thing went down, except the priest was from the democratic republic of the Congo. He must've hammered that point 4 or 5 times. Man and a woman.

Take courage my friend, you are completely wrong on this one point. Are parts of the "church" turning to ungodliness and calling it Godly? Yes. But our hope is not in a human, humanity or anything we humans have poisoned. We have Hope in a God that came to us when we hated Him but yet the Creator took on the image of the created so He could prove His love to us. He gave His life a sacrifice for us BUT most importantly, He proved His power over sin and death by rising from the dead. We can now have eternal Hope in Christ IF we begin a relationship with Him.

You say "we are doomed" and yet the apostle John wrote about ALL this in Revelation in 96 AD. There will be a "turning away"; turning away from truth, God the Father and Jesus, His Son. "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take courage! (DON'T MISS THAT PART!) I have overcome the world." Jesus as written in John 16:33

Our Deacon had a great sermon this week. Reminded everyone that Pride is a sin. Two weeks ago our Priest said "The World thinks us as cowards".

I've never heard homilies so pointed. This is starting to boil over.
