He was in custody while waiting trial. So he got credit for all of that time. Federal prisoners have to serve 85% of their sentence.

He's probably afraid Epps will sue him for defamation in a DC venue where there's a 99.9999999999999% chance the jury will rule against anyone remotely associated with Republicans. The merits of the case would be completely inconsequential.
