Nobody, eh?

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is on line 1...still politcally relevant and rising in the polls Nikki Haley is on line 2...Mike Pompeo isn't doing too shabby either...he's on line 3...
For a guy that would likely vote for DeSantis, your words, you sure spend a lot of time pimping Trump.

You're right...but go back to 1979-1980 when Reagan vs Bush was an extremely heated and ugly battle...Bush basically forced his way onto the ticket as the VP runnning mate...

Folks forget about these things because there was no social media to cover the true ugliness that went on back then between political rivals...

Bush and Reagan were anything BUT "friends"...
The issue is that these DeSantis fanatics truly looks down on the Trump base. They don't want to be associated with them. It is like how white people would shy away from calling rednecks white people. Their fanaticism is a poor representation of the actual candidates and of what can actually happen.

It is funny how they are so quick to so how anti-Trump they are they wouldn't even vote for Trump if DeSantis was VP. Ignoring the setup that would be for DeSantis in 2028 and the sheer obviousness that Trump + DeSantis >>>> any democrat option.

Lol no - the issue is that Trump thinks it's appropriate to have his followers attack the family members of other candidates or to release official campaign statements that make OnlyFans jokes.

DeSantis will probably lose the primary because people are idiots, but he'll be fine to run again in 2028 without attaching himself to a clown show like Trump.
Welcome to politics. This is pretty standard if you aren't a pearl clutcher. In terms of American politics history this is pretty weak sauce.

Meh. Trump supporters say nasty things about DeSantis supporters all the time and vice versa. The key is what the politicians say about each other. The DeSantis campaign isn't putting out Press Releases like this:

Quote:

"Ron DeSanctimonious is acting more like a thirsty, third-rate OnlyFans wannabe model than an actual presidential candidate. Instead of actually campaigning and trying to turn around his dismal poll numbers, DeSanctus is now so desperate for attention that he's debating a Grade A loser like Gavin Newsom.

At the debate, Ron will flail his arms and bobble his head wildly, looking more like a San Francisco crackhead than the governor of Florida. This isn't a prediction. It's a spoiler.

Hopefully for Ron, it's a seated debate so he won't have to mash his foot into his high-heels to look taller. But if not, he'll definitely be on a 12 inch step stool so he can peek right above the podium.
As for the VP thing I don't see it. I just don't think DeSantis is willing to trust his political future to Trump and that is what he would have to do. The Bush comparison doesn't really work because Bush hade no job to go to and Reagan was looking at 2 Terms.

From a pure politics perspective it makes no sense for DeSantis. DeSantis can just endorse Trump and go back to Florida and keep kicking ass as Governor for another 2 years and then run in '28. If and more likely when Trump loses in November then DeSantis is the runaway frontrunner. If Trump wins then it will depend on if he can transfer his aura on to someone else and I think that's going to be very hard to do and he has a habit of throwing people under the bus. He may just decide he wants his son to replace him. Trump is a very unpredictable guy.

Also virtually all of the DeSantis folks that won't vote for Trump didn't vote for him last time either. Almost all of them will just vote for the R.

I can only speak for myself, but I think this is an exaggeration. For instance, my neighbors were big fans of Desantis, but we got to talking one day and they said they were done with Desantis because he was "endorsed by Soros". It's hard not to look down on that kind of stupidity. It's not like I wanted to look down on them.

If they had simply said they prefer Trump and various other arguments, fine. Instead they had to believe a Loomeresque kind of nonsense. At the end of the day, I remember we're on the same side no matter how many times people blather on about TDS.

I would not describe you as a fanatic. Your post shows your ability to differentiate between the frustration of people falling for misinformation and the people themselves.

Most Trump supporters don't believe the Soros bit. What is common is that little tidbits like Soros etc gives people an easy way to defend their support of Trump. Which is presently, really important (this is a problem).

If you wanted to shift them to DeSantis supporters you would be best to make them feel "safe" to support Trump. Then set it up that they can join you in supporting DeSantis to. Just let things evolve more slowly for them to shift from being Trump 1st DeSantis 2nd to DeSantis 1st Trump 2nd. In order to do this, you have to really believe Trump is "safe" to support and is a reasonable 2nd or 3rd guy in your book.

wow. Its you that needs to learn about politics Trump style. Amazing how little you know about your 'Great Leader'

No way in hell would Trump pick DeSantis as a VP or dog catcher. IF he feels slighted by anyone in any way they are out. It's all about boot licking.

And you wonder why DeSantis backers bash Trumpers. Because your are blind. You cant see this guy for what he is-- A petulant spoiled brat and Game Show host that takes everything personal and makes it about himself. That is NOT being a leader.

Feel free to point to one time in modern history where a candidate had his surrogates say another candidate's wife faked cancer or released official campaign statements that sound like they were written by a college frat guy, or a host of other personal attacks and idiotic nicknames that have been said throughout the primary. It's absolutely not politics as normal and is unique to one person.

There's a Grand Canyon sized gap between "Ivy League elite" and whatever this is:

Sorry if my standards for the most important position in the world are higher than "Jerry Springer guest," but apparently you're ok with it. However implying what Trump and his followers say/do is "normal politics" is just disingenuous. It's also why most of the country thinks he's a joke.

Implying someone is a pederast is not weak sauce. That is making it personal. Defending and excusing that kind of stuff is why you get DeSantis supporters frustrated with the trump cheerleaders, or even lashing out and making fun of the obvious trolls and fanatics who have to be purposefully dishonest to defend it. Every time that happens, the trump fanatics conflate the frustrated DeSantis supporters making fun of the fanatics with them being frustrated with his entire base. Even if it's repeatedly explained they aren't attacking trumps base.

It's just basic dishonesty all around from the sycophants. Or "very fake news."

It isn't just about him behaving like a 3rd grader, it is what that means for national discourse. Most of your posts here are goaltending for the guy trying to explain that what he really means when he attacks conservative positions from the left or other successful conservatives, or that when he puts forward liberal/big government ideas he is really only doing it for votes, but doesn't mean it, that it is all just politics for show, but he really is a conservative, even though we have 4 years of evidence that points to a different conclusion.

I never want that, EVER from someone who is president. If someone is pissing on my leg and telling me it is raining... they will NOT get my vote.

They don't have to be eloquent, they don't have to sound like they got more than an 8th grade education, but they need to not BS me to my face when we both know it's BS. And if they expect me to like it, that's worse.

This isn't just what Trump says, it's what we say is acceptable. If we give this the go ahead, we now have a brand new starting point for every other political interaction. It only gets worse from here.

I don't disagree…the problem is you have no chance of changing their minds…their are far too many of them and the inertia is far to great…

As I have been saying for months, folks can get on this TexAgs thread, pound their chests on how awesome DeSantis is, post all of the pro-DeSantis tweets, retweets, articles, etc, post all of these endorsements, post all of the $ coming into his PAC…

And guess what?

that's why Trump literally speaks at a fourth grade level during his rallies:

Trump goes for the uneducated vote

and why he publishes incomprehensible screeds on TS with spelling and grammatical errors.

so the idiots in his base then can state, "see Ma, Trump don't know how to spell neither!"

Cruz wasn't his running mate though.

Eh Trump speaks differently than any other candidate, that is why he is successful. Sorry he doesn't speak like an educated Ivy League elite with the upmost politeness. I think modern political politeness is the problem which is why I didn't limit it to just modern times.

Your excuse for Trump's behavior and dialogue, and that's the definition of an excuse as opposed to an explanation, is textbook whitewashing/glossing over extremely lowbrow discourse that only serves to debase our nation.

That's Trump's M.O. though....to entice everyone including his opponents to play in the mud so he can try and say, "Look, I'm not perfect but no one else is either". I just think its sad that so many people are falling for his tricks and willing to follow him down into the mud.

this sentiment is so funny because trump is quite literally an educated Ivy League elite, who pretends otherwise and somehow people believe it
When the left wing guy gets to attack you FROM THE RIGHT, that's FUNNY!!!

One of DeSantis underrated virtues is he is a BIG advocate of Trade Schools along with reforming college education.

Ron knows he screwed up, needs to bend the knee to MAGA founder much like Ramaswampy did in the debates.

Ron D bending the knee - right into Trump's rump.
I feel sorry for Trump being Fednapped, but...
despite his "winner" image in some circles, Trump is too old.

This is long but it is basically the same picture I see. I see little fault in the logic or timeline. Hoping others can see this as well.

You need to break this out as a stand alone thread. I have been saying this for months but she has articulated it very well.

It needs to be shortened a bit and made more concise. Would be well worth the effort!!
