Nothing wrong with it, my wife is a state government worker.

Has Desantis held a job outside of working for the government?

Lmao
you are such a witty guy- your jokes are hilarious!

and yes, I guess serving as an officer in the US Navy is "working for the government".

He was also a teacher, a Special Assistant to a US District Attorney (hilarious!) , an electrician's assistant and a coach at a baseball camp (again hilarious!), founded an LSAT prep test company, and wrote two books.

Not really, pointing out that most government workers can relate to Desantis more so than Trump.maybe why Trump leads the pack by double digits.

Not sure I am voting for Trump but definitely not voting for Desantis.

Hey, you're a troll, but at least an honest one. Thank you for admitting that its simply about "beating DeSantis" more than anything else.
Not exactly. DeSantis is not going to win, he is the flavor of the month on F16, but in rural America, not even an after thought. Still fun to watch his fan base, they may meltdown bigger than Clinton's fans did. Hope so!

Trump has my interest but let's see who he picks as his VP. My vote really doesn't matter, I live in a red state so will not put a lot of effort to go to the polls.

It's fun to watch people get frustrated over the fact that the most effective republican in our lifetime won't win because people are obsessed with an 80 year old who just lost the last election? You have an odd sense of humor

ETA: the rural part is by far the most frustrating. My father (and men like him) have busted their ass to get where they are today. desantis has accomplished every single thing on his wish list. Desantis has decimated the democrat party in Florida. He is everything people should want. But for some reason he, and men like him, believe a billionaire born with a silver spoon in his mouth is the man who really "gets rural Americans". There is no getting past that level of emotional attachment.
Rural American is the backbone of our country.

And the ultra-hardcore of MAGA (such as those on Free Republic) actually would do just that.

And Trump supporters wonder why so many people can't stand them, and can't stand Trump. It is because they tolerate, promote, and often agree with garbage like this.
Has JimRob shut down the primary yet?
No, they still allow DeSantis supporters to post, somewhat, although they are subject to endless abuse and death threats.

I guess since his quarterly beg-a-thon takes 3 months to complete, he can't really afford another membership purge right now.

Rural American is the backbone of our country.

Rural America is a fraction of the votes needed to win the election. Even if every single "rural voter" turned out and voted for Trump, he'd still lose in a landslide.

Your obsession with thinking the "rural vote" is going to carry Trump to victory says either you're trolling again, or one of the most uninformed people on F16 when it comes to the population distribution in the US.

I think most of us expect Trump to win the primary, so I doubt there will be a meltdown. When Trump loses again, likely even worse this time, the I told you so's will be pretty fun though. Although I doubt many Trump fans will still be here though since most of them don't really follow politics outside of worshipping Trump.
I've said several times that TexAgs will need to create an F85 board on the day after the election dedicated solely to the "he wuz cheated" posts so as not to clog up F16.

You made me realize they'll also need an F86 board for all the "told you so" posts, too. They can give it this icon:

Yes it is. But unfortunately they've been robbed of genuine leadership for so long that they've bought into the lie that an entitled, high born billionaire that gave them the vax, massive inflation, full support of fauci, and many other missteps actually cares about them. It's infuriating that the media/the left have gone so incredibly insane that Trump looks like the savior by comparison.

DeSantis is about to get endorsed by Vander Plaats who picked every winner in Iowa since 2008. He's got over 30k signed up to Caucus for him there already and has the full backing of the Governor, by contrast Cruz won Iowa with 10k and had the Governor actively wanting anyone BUT Cruz. Statistically if the polling is accurate in Iowa DeSantis has every single person that is voting for him literally having signed a card saying so because polls say he is at 17% which is about 30,000 of the people that will actually vote in the Caucus.

I admit it could all be true. There could be this groundswell for Trump and Haley that doesn't show up at rallies for them, aren't volunteering for them, and are just lying in wait to come out for their candidate. It's possible. I've never seen polls so completely opposite of what is happening on the ground though, the disconnect is just staggering. We will find out in less than 60 days.

The thing I find most interesting about this is it shows Trump is truly living in a feedback loop of lies and yes men. No one that knows anything about Iowa thinks that Kim Reynolds is the "Most Unpopular Governor in America" after she won by 20 points a year ago and implemented her agenda as promised. Yet he makes a video attacking her apparently thinking that this will help him in Iowa.

BTW, he looks absolutely terrible, I don't know how anyone can look at him and think this is the same guy from 2016.

His echo chamber is why his lawsuit against the media companies will fail.

He believes Truth Social is some massive success, when it isn't. He is mad that people are reporting that it is really just a safe space for MAGA to hang out.
