Just to note that I did a brief survey of likely voters in my car, and DeSantis won, 1-0.

Amazing that we post hundreds of articles on this thread detailing the actual reality of policies, news, strategies, historical trends between Trump and DeSantis..

and on the other threads those who support Trump are reduced to ad hominem personal attacks on every DeSantis supporter.

Just like on Twitter X where the DeSantis supporters post news about what DeSantis has done and is doing, while the Trumpers slander everyone and call their "enemies" childish names.

They deserve to lose, and they will lose. It's inevitable.

Either the GOP nominates Governor DeSantis, or Trump loses worse in 2024 to the democrats than he did in 2020.

The only question will be which pitiful excuses are going to be rolled out by the Trump team after he loses.

DeSantis has been MASTERFUL this past week- while Trump rage posts on "Truth Social" like a crazy person.
I still think there is a big difference between most Trump supporters on Twitter and what is on Texags in general, though there is certainly a lot of personal stuff (I've been called out more personally about DeSantis than anything else in my 25+ years on this site). I try very hard not to make it personal and don't think the namecalling helps either way. In the end all but a few on either side would have Trump and DeSantis in their Top 3 and would vote for them in the General to stop the Socialists.

The only other thing I would say is most of the Trump posts have to do with A)Trump is a victim or being mistreated B) Trump was the Greatest Ever and if elected we will go in a time warp to 2019 or C)Polls and momentum and "it's inevitable" talk.

In the end I hope more do come around but everyone is on their own journey. Trump does hit an emotional chord with people in a way very few Republicans have and it makes people very defensive of him.

Then why isn't he hitting the road? He should be doing rally after rally to raise money
The big rallies cost about $1 million each to put on and they aren't bringing in much in return. It's mainly small donors and supporters showing up.

Trump needs big money folks that can write big checks to his PAC and all the big money folks want nothing to do with paying his legal bills. They also don't believe he will win.

looks like he'll get it from former Desantis backer...

If you're referring to the Daily Mail article, that wasn't his PAC.

Daily Mail mentions Ron to the Resuce. *NN article mentions Never Back Down, which sounds closer to him.

100% certain the PAC was setup by Trump supporters and then "shut down" so it could bash DeSantis and "endorse" Trump at the most opportune time.

Looks like the hurricane is when they needed to do it since DeSantis was getting lots of good press.

This was an unaffiliated PAC that claimed $50 million in "committed donations" but reality had less than $3000 in its account. The founder now has $57 left and intends to support Trump.

just the daily lies from the team at Mar A Lago working with their buddies in the media. Let's not forget the way the Trumpers worked with the National Enquirer to slander Ted Cruz in 2016.

I have seen this particular grift was set up BEFORE DeSantis declared

and once Ron heard about it he told everyone to stay away.

hence the fact it raised 291 dollars.

not 291,000 dollars

but 291 dollars.

I doubt Trump is smart enough to plan this far in advance to set up a grifter sting. I think it was just the idiots trying to take advantage of other idiots.

The latest grifting scam targeting DeSantis:

"The PAC is called Ron to the Rescue and the founder is John Thomas, described as a Republican strategist.

The only time I have read Thomas' name has been in connection this super PAC, which I've written about in past posts. I had never heard the name before DeSantis edged toward running for president.

Yesterday, after reading that article in the Daily Mail, I looked for a FEC page to see what kind of money we're talking about here. Well, that was interesting. The FEC filings show the PAC was registered on November 14, 2022.

The first FEC report is for the 4th quarter of 2022. From 10/01/2022 to 12/31/2022, Total receipts listed is $1,330.00.

There is only one donor listed, a person in California listed as a Research Scientist. The donation was $500.00 on 11/17/22.

There is a donation listed from John Thomas for $250 on 1/26/23. Those are the only two receipts of donations I find. Where's the $50M? Who are the big donors Thomas claims to have on board?"

It's fortunate the hurricane moved fast and didn't linger but it's a real victory so far for DeSantis on being an effective leader and problem solver all while communicating clearly with the public. This will be notices and appreciated by the national GOP voters.

That is an excellent thing- but even in the media it's as if Florida ITSELF is not the second largest GOP state in the Union-

so while this may help Ron D get better exposure across the country, people are missing that his vast success and ability to lead and execute strategy just likely won him the Florida primary.

Which is pretty danged important in it's own right.
