lol at everyone that wants Trump to "blow it all up" and thinking Republicans aren't doing enough while he's making sure everyone knows "she's the one I wanted"

Desantis poll though.

Quote:

A new poll from Public Opinion Strategies a polling firm working for the DeSantis' campaign shows Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis closing in on Trump among Iowa voters.

The poll, obtained by Fox News Digital, interviewed 400 Iowa likely GOP caucus-goers and included a ballot test that saw DeSantis rise from 14% support up to 21% post-debate.

Trump slid by one percentage point, from 42% to 41%.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley also saw a large bump in the polls, rising from 3% support to 11% post-debate, while South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott slid from 8% to 7%
.
Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy saw the largest slide, dropping from 10% support to 7%. Former Vice President Mike Pence remained at 2% in the poll.

Trump bumps correspond to every indictment, which is by design.

We'll see what happens now that they don't have anymore of those in the pipeline.

Of course, based on your posting history, you are just a Trumper popping in to stir the pot before scurrying back to Premium.

Didnt mean to hit a nerve. Just looking at the polls. Maybe you need to step away for a breather sport.

But please tell me when Ron will make his move? I would like to see it. Especially since you have so much invested in your boy.

Since some around here love polls so much. This is a serious, serious problem. Over 60% of people think Trump committed a crime and 69% of Independents. Only 42% expect him to be convicted but there is a 99% chance that happens.

And then you learn more about those that did the poll and your narrative falls apart…

A lot of polls posted here are Dem polls, many show Trump ahead. Live by them and die by them.

DeSantis gains 8 points in Iowa after the debate.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/iowa/

In the Public Opinion Strategies for 8/19-21 Trump led DeSantis 42-14% (Vivek at 10) and 51-34% head-to-head.
In their 8/24 post debate poll, Trump's lead dropped to 41-21% (Haley at 11, Vivek to 7) and 43-40% head to head.

The real tell is there were almost no viral moments out of the interview. People talked about how many watched it but no one commented on it (outside of the Epstein thing which was meh). Trump had this perfect setup with the biggest conservative personality out there kissing his ass and it was... boring.

If everyone besides Desantis dropped out of the race right now, Desantis would likely get the lead in the race, if not cut it extremely close.

No one outside maga wants Trump. The sooner it's a two person race the sooner the party can move onto someone that can win and be in office for more than one term.

National polls are still pretty meaningless and all over the board but a nice one for DeSantis that seems to reflect what the more professional debate polls showed.

Quote:

Although our survey showed that Vivek Ramaswamy won the debate by a narrow margin, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley were the two major beneficiaries of the debate when it came to the actual horserace. With a vasty majority of respondents disagreeing with Trump's decision not to debate, Trump held his lead but now has several candidates still alive in the race for the nomination.

Our InsiderAdvantageAI debate reports indicated that Ramaswamy, DeSantis, and Haley had big nights Wednesday, but only DeSantis's efforts, followed by Halley's had an impact on the actual race. As our InsiderAdvantageAI indicated, Pence, Christie, and Scott had debate performances that either failed to enhance or actually diminished their standings. The still to come poll of the debate performances are in line with the InsiderAdvantageAI predictions as well.
Essentially Ramaswamy "won" the debate but most of that was Trump supporters liking him standing up for Trump but they are still voting Trump. Race showing more and more signs of narrowing to 4 or maybe 5 candidates.

They will never answer that, because that would require logical consistency.

The debates don't matter anymore though. The mugshot trumped (pun intended) any discussion about them.

Yes, it was an awkward facial expression. Thankfully that's not determines if I vote for a guy or not. Otherwise trumps least favorite photo that "Fox always uses" would be a disqualifier

Great substantive debate as always. Let's just elect a guy based on who can come up with the funniest memes or manipulate pictures the most to make the other guy look funny. Great. Well I guess it makes sense since Trump is getting harder and harder to defend on issues.

So is Trump even going to debate at all?

It seems like he is having to restrict what he can say and what situations he is in due to his legal issues. He has said he won't do any GOP debates. My guess is he won't do any hard interviews going forward either because he might get asked a question that puts him in further jeopardy. Sucks what is happening to him but is that going to be all we have going forward? The last time he even had a tough question was the Baeir interview, that Tucker interview made Hannity look like Rachel Maddow.

His entire campaign seems to be talking about the legal stuff or having surrogates make memes. FWIW I think he would like to mix it up but I am wondering if his lawyers will let him at this point, he has really gotten careful in the last few weeks.

Most of those polls are absolutely horrid metrics behind them but ok. So you don't think Trump should debate or answer any hard questions until he is the nominee and there is no turning back? Cool.
