The consequences of being effective. I believe there is truth to the premise that illegals are leaving Florida due to recent legislation. I wonder how hard "conservatives" will take it.

Not really suggesting clicking on the actual DailyKos article, but it's interesting to consider where this will go.

OMG, he's right! Worked has completely grinded to a halt here! I'm in the construction industry and we're not getting anything done since Desantis chased out all of the workers!.....

Oh wait, none of that has happened.

DeSantis is the Nikola Jokic of politics. Dude gets ****s done and the only negative thing people can say about him is that he's not flashy which makes them sound dumb.

Of course the big donors are headed for DeSantis. He has a proven track record of passing legislation and getting millions right after.

Which is the reason they don't like Trump.

I believe you. I'm glad to hear that. I take that to mean they made sure not to hire illegals in the first place, right?

I know a couple stories, from people I trust in different areas, that their lawn companies cancelled for staffing issues due to recent legislation. Things like that lol.

I'll be very curious of the impact of this moving forward. I think it might be a little more than you think, but I could be wrong.

Are illegals employed in FL? No doubt, just like they are inthe other 49 states. Have some left? Again, no doubt. Side note, one thing FL is not short on is lawn care companies, lol. Your friends will be just fine, they may just have to switch companies. But I'd bet my life savings this new law is not going to mean the collapse of any industry here in FL. So far, I haven't heard of any construction projects in my sphere of work that have slowed down due to worker shortage.

With a laugh/cry emoji for good measure.

Virtually all of the DeSantis major donors are former Trump donors, they just don't believe in Trump anymore or that he can win. DeSantis is also famous for telling donors they don't get special access to him with his phone number and he will vote his conscience always. It's cost him some money but it has gained him more in the end. DeSantis is the same conservative today as he was when he ran for Congress, only he has a boatload of skins on the wall.

I don't know about you but I think the best political counter measure against a rambling old man is another rambling old man. You sure wouldn't want someone who is young, energetic, ultra conservative, and knows policy to go against biden.

I love the accusations that DeSantis is for sale. Trump doesn't anything without seeing how it benefits him first and foremost.

I have largely stayed out of the Ron versus Don debate. I do think DeSantis' fight with Disney is largely going in his favor.

But can someone give me a clue about what exactly is happening here? Even Lake appears taken aback.

Is it just about the Presidential race or is DeSantis losing his popularity as governnor? My assumption was it was the former but the ferocity of the response instead of expected silence surprised me.

Hawg,

Lake is well known to be 110% on Trump's bandwagon. She's a ride or die Trumper, at this point that's all she has left to cling to.

I guarantee this was an event who's invite was broadcast out to the MAGA crowd (i.e. those who subscribe to his MAGA email newsletters, etc). Those are die-hard MAGA Trump fans there. Of course they view Desantis as evil incarnate, deep state, blah, blah, blah. And Lake is playing her part to try and win a spot in his cabinet (or VP if he wins the primary). She's now as fake as the summer day is long.

As a Floridian, for the last 6 months or so I've seen Desantis yard signs popping up in my neighborhood, and the signs, bumberstickers, etc have only gotten more noticeable since he officially announced.

Trump said DeSantis is worse than Cuomo. A segment of Trump-voters, we'll call them Cult45, believes any words coming out of Trump's mouth. They honestly believe he's 100% RINO DC Insider now.

This is not true of all Trump voters.

That's a Trump gathering. Interesting as well how many people are just looking at other people while you have a few folks screaming and yelling to intimidate anyone who might dare defend DeSantis. It's pretty low grade clickbait.

If you were wondering it isn't a coincidence that the MSM has generally avoided posting Trump's "Truths". They are waiting until he has the nomination to remind everyone how he is more unhinged now than before. It's only showing up on TS and in some parts of the Twittersphere. I just don't know how anyone reads stuff like that and thinks, "Yeah, that's definitely who I want as President. What a great leader"

WRONG

Trump's tweets used to be funny, smart, pointed and deliberate. Maybe it was Scavino writing some, but Trump was MUCH different.

Now, they are ramblings of an angry lunatic.

It's more and more obvious every day that if you want to hitch your wagon to Trump his camp forces you to show your loyalty by starting trashy rumors about his opponents. Its pathetic and tells me all I need to know about the Lakes and Donalds who jump onboard the Trump train.

But since these so-called Republican politicians can't attack Desantis on the political front without doing so from the left side of the argument, all they're left with as ammunition are made up lies about his personality and weight loss. So pathetic and juvenile and trashy.

But then again that fits the M.O. of the Trump campaign. Their strategy isn't to win people's minds with policy but rather win their emotions with name-calling and fairy tales about Trump's superhuman abilities. You can see it in the Trump supporter's arguments here on F16. These posters have no argument for Trump other than "he's a Proven Warrior" and the only person than can vanquish our rotten political system by singlehandedly "burning down the system" and "draining the swamp".

These are fairy tales, comic book storylines being told by the Trump campaign and his gullible supporters are buying it because it sounds heroic and exciting. Laughable is what they really are.
