I agree with your take with some exceptions. Serious posters DO hate Trump with every fiber of their being.

Their reasons are this:

1. He is not an approved member of any government entity. Only people working within the machine are allowed to be public representatives.

2. He has massive support from the population of America. Support of a candidate should be limited to sound bytes and imagined support of their constituents.

3. He doesn't care about the power structure present in politics. He goes directly to the people to appeal to them.

This thread is filled with a ton of DeSantis quotes and Trump quotes. Most of the DeSantis supporters will vote for Trump if he is the nominee. Trump supporters rarely defend what he says or even discuss what he is doing or saying outside of his legal issues. There is also some polling discussion.

Look, Trump is a walking cluster at this point. He's not even able to read teleprompters without making mistakes. His crowds are shrinking. He has far worse people around him than ever. His policy ideas are a shadow of what they once were because he has surrounded himself with yes men who praise him. This isn't the Trump of '16 or '20. Notice how there are almost never positive threads about Trump doing Trump things? It's not because of hate, it's because he simply isn't doing them anymore in a positive way.

I want to win and Trump is going to lose Goldwater style if he is the nominee. Most people here agree with me. Yet you think clearly think people like me hate, hate, hate Trump because we are honest about him. I'll still vote for him if I have to but damn we have such a better option and the examples of that leadership and policy are everywhere.

I know you are very sympathetic on the legal issues hawg but as you said, we have "real world problems" and it isn't talking about Jan 6 or whether or not Trump shouldn't have gag order for deciding to attack the Clerk in his trial. While that stuff is wrong we have serious issues to deal with and Trump is no longer a serious person.

I don't believe it has.

Obviously, there's the back and forth and some more than just snark handed out by both sides, but I don't think this is a "Trump hate" thread. I for one don't hate him. I've defended him numerous times on other threads but I also crap on him when he deserves it. And I don't think he's a good choice for the nominee in '24. I think nominating him will cause the GOP to not only lose the Presidency, but down ballot races too. As Aggie93 puts it, a Goldwater slaughter...

No hate though - hell, I voted for him twice and think he did an overall good job at the things he got done.

Obviously, there's the back and forth and some more than just snark handed out by both sides, but I don't think this is a "Trump hate" thread. I for one don't hate him. I've defended him numerous times on other threads but I also crap on him when he deserves it. And I don't think he's a good choice for the nominee in '24. To be honest there's not much Trump campaigning to cover. If there is Trump campaign coverage it's usually negative and it gets it's own thread.

No hate though - hell, I voted for him twice and think he did an overall good job at the things he got done.
To be honest there's not much Trump campaigning to cover. If there is Trump campaign coverage it's usually negative and it gets it's own thread.

There are a TON of pro DeSantis posts on this thread with DeSantis speaking and supporters speaking about him. There are a handful on Trump. So is your expectation that DeSantis supporters should seek out Pro Trump info?

I'll tell you why there isn't much Pro Trump here, it's because Trump isn't doing much to inspire people. He's done a few things for sure. He was great in East Palestine. He was great in the CNN Town Hall. He's had a few moments since. Mostly though he has been a disaster in interviews and speeches where there are far more negatives than positives. He spends a lot of time talking about polls, coming up with nicknames, and talking about who says nice things about him. He throws out some barbs at Biden and Dems here and there but mainly just throws out outlandish stuff. That's literally most of what he talks about in his speeches now. I have listened to them.

Gone are the days of his timing and humor. Gone is his patience and ability to come across as strong and in control. Hell that softball interview with Tucker looked like MSNBC interviewing Biden where he was trying to prop him up. It honestly makes me sad you can't see it.

No, in actuality its continued as a "what is each candidate doing right now in 2023 to present themselves as the best option" thread.

Any Trump supporter is welcome to post things Trump is doing in the present to earn our votes. And of course also post things they believe cast doubt on other candidates worthiness.

However, all I see posted in support of Trump are polls that by now we all know are bought and paid for and have been highly suspect since at least 2015.

As a Trump voter in 2016 and 2020, I'm desperate to see that version of Trump show up, so please, if you have evidence that he's still around post it. Please, post something beside polls which shows Trump is the best candidate in 2023.

And calling all non-Trump supporters secret Dems? Give me a break, that's just desperately lashing out when you have nothing positive about current version Trump to fight back with. Right now that's all I see with Trump supporters. There's apparently nothing positive about Trump to promote in 2023 other than bought and paid for poll results. So what's posted in lieu of positive things is just lashing out at supporters of other candidates as fake R's, memories of 2016 Trump, and intentional conflation of Trump's political prosecution with Trump's presidential candidacy.

The 2024 Presidential Election will be huge in deciding the progression of our country and the world, and that election is fast approaching. Leaving aside the validity of the polls, they do show Trump as the R favorite to win the nomination. So yeah, consistent and continual discussion of Trump as well as the other candidates is warranted. And yes, other world events are happening and getting discussed by this board and by posters from this thread. It is possible to multitask and focus on multiple world events at the same time.

But what I continue to see, as evidenced by your very post, is insistence by Trump supporters that we not focus about Trump's current condition or current behavior or current advisors. Instead, we must focus on everything but. And if we do focus on Trump and it dares to be negative then we're fake Rs or obsessed or whatever.

So I ask, why is that? When it comes to the most major political event shaping up right now in America (i.e. who takes control of this country during an extremely pivotal time in the world) why can't we scrutinize the supposed frontrunner?

So you really believe that the owners of this site do not allow Trump supporters to post, or limit what they can say?

Good grief dude, I could list at least a dozen Trump supporters just off the top of my head who are always here defending Trump over anything and everything, repeating his infantile insults, pushing Loomer's latest insanity, etc. One of them makes 30-100+ posts a day on a regular basis, and has a ready to go backup account whenever he gets a time out. This isn't even counting the people who come here from other parts of the site to troll by pretending to be the most MAGA of all of MAGA.

And y'all get a lot more free reign than the rest of us. Just because anyone not supporting Trump is allowed to post does not mean this is an anti-Trump site. It sounds like what you want is a Trump echo chamber where everyone else either gets in line, shuts up, or gets banned.
