Ferrari, Alpha Romeo, and Haas use Ferrari engines

Mercedes, Aston Martin, McLaren, and Williams use Mercedes engines

Red Bull and Alpha Tauri use Honda engines.

Alpine uses a Renault engine.

This isn't nearly the gotcha some people on here seem to think it is.

The point is that without the power plant, the car isn't moving, anywhere. Honda has supplied RBR's power plant since 2019 and starting in 2026, it will be Ford's (with their long history of engine building under Cosworth). Not going for a gotcha but the power plant is kinda, sorta important. Red Bull subsidiaries may fab other parts but the most important item in that vehicle is the power plant. RBR don't make power plants.

Honda provides the ICE power unit. That's it. The rest is made in house by Red Bull.
How far would that car go without the ICE power unit?

How far would the ICE power unit go without a car around it? Red Bull has won a world championship with Renault and Honda engines. In F1 you need a complete car. They've done that and no one else is close. Red Bull's strength isn't their Honda. It's their low drag high downforce floor and DRS system.
This argument is full on F16

Red Bull Racing doesn't make the tires either.

The most important item is the car, especially in the turbo hybrid era. Most F1 teams use 3rd party engines. Your car design will make or break you. The engine is interchangeable. Their current design would probably still be winning with a Ferrari or Mercedes.

You're correct. Thread got derailed by RBR fan bois chiming in about how great RBR is.

To the OP, good on Ferrari for staying true to their heritage.

Sigh...it's still a separate company. RBR is NOT an energy drink company...it is a company that competes in F1 racing.

And the car is built using recycled Red Bull cans. And they get the extra bit of speed from the Wiiings that Red Bull gives them!!!

Would you say that Mercedes competes in F1? Or is it Mercedes-AMG Petronas? Or is it Toto Wolfe? Or INEOS?

I would say whichever company that owns the F1 racing company.

I worked for Bell Helicopter. They are owned by Textron, Inc.

Would you say that Textron, Inc. makes the V-22, UH-1Y, and AH-1Z?

Because that's the analogous situation...

Don't act like a drink company is making and racing these cars...

So, in Tesla's example, it's actually Red Bull that kicks the ball in the goal...who cares that they own FC Salzburg. It's Red Bull all the way. So, in case you didn't know, there's actually an energy drink company that plays soccer.

who cares what Tesla says? he makes one comment that is either facetious or stupid and then there are 4 pages of people engaging in the least interesting F1 conversation in the history of the internet.

ferrari's position in OP's article is great and F1 is a really fun sport that could have been a good topic of conversation (although it doesn't actually have anything to do with OP). but the thread has been F16'ed to death.
And...here you are adding your F16 to it. Congrats. You're part of the problem.

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team is one third owned by each of Toto Wolfe, INEOS, and Mercedes-Benz Group.

Oracle Red Bull Racing is owned by Red Bull GmbH.

The drink company is making F1 cars as much as Mercedes is. Just better these days.

I see you don't understand what a subsidiary is...

Bell is owned by Textron.

Textron is NOT making helicopters.

RBR is owned by Red Bull GmBH.

Red Bull GmBH is NOT making F1 cars.

But...keep on keeping on...

It's interesting how some people think that if they bloviate until everyone just looks at them, shakes their head, and walks off, that they've won some kind of contest.

Kind of sad, actually...

It's weird that I explained to you the ownership of the racing teams then you tried to claim I don't understand it. It's also weird that you're still posting when you said you were done. It's not weird that you resorted to personal attacks when you were incapable of countering your own statement. That part is on brand and predictable.

Kind of sad, really

Legendary Italian car maker Ferrari has no intention of phasing out combustion engines and going fully electric or hybrid anytime soon, promising Sunday to keep making the eight and 12-cylinder engines it has made its trademark at least until the end of the 2030s.

The chief of the Italian manufacturer told the BBC in an interview it would be "arrogant" to dictate to customers what they can buy while at the same time walking away from the company's heritage.
Ferrari instead wants to honor its history of high performance cars using traditional methods of propulsion.

Quote:

It said electric cars and hybrids would make up an increasing proportion of its range by the end of the decade but would not totally take over manufacturing output.

Ferrari also insisted it would continue to develop internal combustion engines to salute what it called "an essential part of the company's heritage."
Quote:

"I don't want to be arrogant and impose a choice on our client," he said.

"It is the client who must choose if they want an ICE (internal combustion engine), a hybrid or an electric car."

One of these days I think I'd like to own a Ferrari...Just for ****s and giggles and the sheer fun of driving one.

Is there a model that I could get on the used market that would be in the semi-reasonable price range AND not be like the Porsche Boxter?
