Legendary Italian car maker Ferrari has no intention of phasing out combustion engines and going fully electric or hybrid anytime soon, promising Sunday to keep making the eight and 12-cylinder engines it has made its trademark at least until the end of the 2030s.

The chief of the Italian manufacturer told the BBC in an interview it would be "arrogant" to dictate to customers what they can buy while at the same time walking away from the company's heritage.
Ferrari instead wants to honor its history of high performance cars using traditional methods of propulsion.

Quote:

It said electric cars and hybrids would make up an increasing proportion of its range by the end of the decade but would not totally take over manufacturing output.

Ferrari also insisted it would continue to develop internal combustion engines to salute what it called "an essential part of the company's heritage."
Quote:

"I don't want to be arrogant and impose a choice on our client," he said.

"It is the client who must choose if they want an ICE (internal combustion engine), a hybrid or an electric car."

Ferrari is right! They really know their customers. When I have bought sports cars in my life I always went for the sexiest looking one with the most horsepower and the worst gas mileage. Alpha's want Farrari's and betas drive a Prius/Smartcar/Tesla (except Elon Musk).

Ferrari has been a joke in F1 more often than not. They went from 1979-1999 without winning a driver's championship, and the only reason they broke their drought was because Michael Schumacher had it in his contract that he could pick the team staff which is how they ended up with Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne. After all of those guys left they went back to clown status.

They've won every race this year. And the worlds constructor championship last year. They are so much faster than the field it's basically over 10 laps in.

No top performance car makers have in a long time. F1 style paddle shifting is flat out faster.

As far as I know, no hypercar makers offer a manual.

As far as I know, in the supercar world, only Porsche still offers a manual up to a point, but the turbos and GT3 RS are PDK.

This is simply how it is these days.

Loved that movie and true story.

Dad and my brother were always tinkering with cars. Bro bought many of them to fix up while in college. The only notice Dad would have have was when the auto insurance agent called. It got so bad that Dad was warned if my brother and sold two more cars, he would have to register as an used car salesman and go to a commercial policy.

The chassis is made by Red Bull Racing, with Oracle as a co-title sponsor as well.

The engine, currently, is made by Honda. Different engine suppliers in the past.

Various other parts come from various manufacturers.

Don't act like Red Bull makes the whole thing.

So they're going to make EVs, just not make all their vehicles EVs. More than before is still better than not making any at all. Works for me.

Red Bull makes the chassis, suspension, aero, and mgu themselves. They also do engineering and aero testing in their own wind tunnels. They won a title with a Renault engine and now a Honda. They will win one with a ford. F1 is no longer about the ice power unit. It takes a complete car and Red Bull is simply the best in the world.

Look. As a kid,I went to drag races and Meyer Speedway for demo derbys, crazy eight races. Boat races on rivers. Dad and bro flew U-Controls and remote control aircraft.

There is nothing like that smell of fuel burning. It ain't napalm and victory but sometimes it is.

Swing and a miss….Red Bull is just the sponsor/owner. It's really just a custom shop that Red Bull pays for and Ferrari does the entire car, Red Bull do not.

Wrong.

Red Bull Racing is a subsidiary of Austrian Red Bull energy drink company. Oracle is just a sponsor. Red Bull is both sponsor and constructor.
