I love the officer, standing there for crowd control, nodding in unison with Cruz's slap down of that smarmy reporter.

I love Cruz. Smart, conservative, and unafraid to push back.

Not sure what would be better, Cruz as a member of the SCOTUS or as POTUS.

Liberal heads explode around the nation.

McConnell would have done anything possible to stop him. He hates Cruz more than he hates Trump.

So weird that reporters openly want to debate Conservatives when "asking questions", but simply laugh, cackle and nod their heads when they get a response to a question asked of a Liberal in power. It's despicable

Good job Senator Cruz. Media is complicit in the nation's problem across the board. They lie and deceive. That together with the Justice Department under Garland and the FBI under Ray has caused major problems across the entire nation. The both are guilty of treason.

Good for Ted. Republicans should be doing this to the press on a regular basis.

That reporter sounded like your typical CM on F16...."But but but...you've been in office for 11 years and you're just kicking the can down the road on immigration! You haven't helped Joe Biden!" - knowing full well there were significantly fewer border crossings under Trump and that Biden basically chose to ignore enforcement from day 1 and Biden also refuses to negotiate with the other side of the aisle.

These people are nothing but Democrat goal-tenders. You can't play friendly with them. You can't appease them by playing their 'gotcha' game. You have to push the facts back in their face. They are not truth-seekers...they are digital henchmen. Their objective is to make every Republican politician look like a cold-hearted, uncaring, lazy, bigot while pretending to be impartial as they do it.

Trump is obviously the most extreme with this...easily the most combative politician of the digital era. But he's laid a general blueprint for others to follow. You cannot smile and play nice like Bush 41, Dole, GWB, Romney, McCain, Jeb, and others have done. You have to be a Cruz or a DeSantis...closer to what Trump has been.

That same Ted Cruz existed in 2016. But he wasn't willing to level this kind of attack on Donald Trump. He abided by Regan's 11th commandment for the benefit of the movement. Trump didn't care about the good of anyone else. What would have happened if Ted had turned his fire on Trump? He would have irrevocably split the base during the primary and would have served us President Hillary on a plater, no matter who won the primary.

He'd be a terrific AG and/or SCOTUS pick, but not a running mate IMO because there's too much overlap on who they appeal to.

You're right. I just really like Cruz and want to vote for him. But that's emotional on my part... factually, you're spot on.

Mostly true up until his speech at the RNC where he DID NOT endorse president Trump - most seem to forget this
He was ok with Hillary winning over Trump

Cruz read the room and saw Trump's populist appeal was too much to overcome. Of course, the Dems want to use the worn out meme of "But but but Cruz didn't defend his family when Trump said mean things so therefore he's a bad leader REEEE!!" - but Cruz realized politics was politics and kept his eye on the bigger objective, and as a result was willing to work with Trump a lot during his term despite the primary antics in order to get some things done. He didn't hold a grudge, he kept on...because he knows you can't be soft in today's political climate.

That's BS. Not "kissing the ring" at one public appearance is not the same as attacking your primary opponent as liar, his father a murderer and his wife as ugly. Good grief.

It was the closing speech at the RNC on every network! Nice try to say "public appearance". It's the event to rally the base to support the nominee! Every headline the next day was Cruz doesn't even endorse Trump.

But that doesn't fit the narrative that Cruz only cared for the party does it!

100 percent right. Note that the Democrats wanted Ted to be replaced by Robert Francis O'Rourke. No sentient human being thinks "Beto" would have worked to pass legislation 'fixing' the border/illegal immigration, at least not to America's benefit.

Elections are choices. A dichotomy, time to choose etc. Democrats are EVERY SINGLE TIME the 'most bad' option.
