It makes a lot of sense as long as she doesn't try to censor free speech, which he says is essential for the new ceo to uphold. It extends an olive branch to the left and he will still be cto, so it's not like she can have the software altered without him knowing. We don't need to live in echo chambers, which I don't think he intended in turning it into for either party.

If it makes you feel better, his reasoning for starting Tesla wasn't b/c of climate change but rather to switch us to sustainable energy. Not so much that he thinks we will run out of oil in the next 20 years; just that it's the responsible thing to do for humanity to make sure we don't run out at some point leaving us stranded and forced to regress.

Not to mention he just partnered with Tucker Carlson. Dude is running a business. He can't afford not to have everyone on board. If he stays true to free speech then that's all I care about.

The left is angry because they think she's a token hire that is being set up to take the fall for Musk's failures. Her politics also appear to be right of center (several Tim Scott, Nikki Haley tweets liked by her).

The far right is angry because she's from the mainstream media and isn't part of the "died suddenly" crowd.

Frankly, she's probably a good hire. The Twitter ad business has declined and needs a credible person selling the business to advertisers. Elon stays on as CTO so he can push forward his R&D initiatives.

Further, women in charge of tech companies has failed 100% of the time. Why would he do this?

One potential outcome is he's pulling a Trumpian Art of the Deal here, where he already has a desired candidate. It's one we won't like, but not as bad as Yaccarino. You leak a rumor it's gonna be her, and when it's someone mildly better everyone acts like it's a victory.

I hope you're right.There are a lot of changes planned for Twitter.The subscription thing just rolled out and he wants to expand video much like YouTube. Also the payment system is in the works. Lots of projects to manage day-to-day.

Not sure if you saw but Elon said that previous Twitter had no targeted ad technology technology. That's crazy.
