How anyone can look at that list of accomplishments and listen to the Governor answer those questions and not think he should be the Republican nominee is beyond me. He takes questions that are intended to be difficult or gotchas and answers them articulately with logic and rationality without missing a beat. He is more adept with a hostile press than any Republican in the past 35 years.

I like Trump and appreciate what he did and what he has endured for the country, but DeSantis is head and shoulders above him as a candidate, a policymaker, and face of the Party.

If Trump supporters really want what is best for the country as they claim and DeSantis wins the nomination, there is no rational, reasonable reason to sit the next election out or vote for someone else. The Democrats are the enemy and DeSantis will eat them alive if he gets a chance.

Very simple. He is not a proven president. Trump is.

Proven to get bent over and gaped by "the swamp", proven to believe exactly like he said while campaigning, that the printer goes "bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr", and an anti-2a proponent.

But, yeah...."proven".

Desantis 2024!

Trump was a great president. You thought that yourself at one time. What happened? You got broken by MSM and a fraudulent election and you are not even aware of how it happened.
If the Trump Presidency ended in March of 2020 he would have been an all timer, it didn't though. You can excuse away March 2020 onward and why it wasn't his fault but his choices seriously tarnished his image and credibility. He's also 76 now and will be over 80 if he serves his term. Is he super energetic and sharp for a 76 year old or compared to Biden? Yep! Compared to a 44 year old though, not so much.

If you are insisting that every DeSantis supporter must say that Trump was a "great President" you aren't going to win many people over. If you can talk about the good things he did while also talking about exactly how he is going to improve on his mistakes that's much more compelling. So far Trump isn't doing much of that though, he's very focused on talking about how great he was and how terrible things are now and he can't let go of the election. He shows glimmers now and then and that's great but DeSantis talks about the future and how he wants to implement the "Florida Plan" nonstop.

I'm not interested in winning people over. I am interested in the truth. Trump was a great president. Any conservative who says otherwise is not telling the truth.

That's fine but if "truth" is what you are most interested in do you think he is above criticism? I certainly see Trump as the best President since Reagan but even as much as I LOVED Reagan he made some serious mistakes just as Trump did. For Reagan in his 2nd Term when he shifted from trying to implement conservative policy to finding compromise with Democrats that resulted in some disastrous policies like Amnesty, the gun bill, the War on Drugs and how it was executed, and the plan they put in place to "Save Social Security" that didn't move towards privatization. He wanted a legacy and he compromised with a Dem Congress and made some big mistakes, even if his intentions were good.

I want Trump to be remembered well as the Founder of MAGA that changed the course of the GOP and the country but in the end there is just a better option to take that torch and elevate the country to another level. Most of all I don't see how he wins Georgia and Arizona because of choices he has made to make permanent enemies of McCain and Kemp folks that agree with him on most of his policies but can't get past how badly he disparaged those people they respect. If he can't win those states he can't win and all of this is moot.

Honestly I think Trump would have a lot more fun being the beloved figure with a huge block of influence vs trying to force down another Presidential run but part of what makes him Trump is he loves to fight.

And then Trump gets right back on top of the news cycle with the Durham report.

Its going to be a back and forth summer. Popcorn ready.

New laws already bearing fruit. Strange they don't want to have a parade unless they can strip in front of kids. Is that all that being gay is about?

Why would they be worried about a law that...

And this is why New College needed to be reformed.

Quote:

Dr. Scott Atlas, a former adviser to President Donald Trump, was met with a flurry of boos, jeers and chants as he delivered a keynote speech during the graduation ceremony for the New College of Florida Friday night, amid a contentious conservative government takeover of the college.

The commencement comes just months after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis replaced nearly half of the liberal arts college's board of trustees with conservative allies as part of a larger effort to suppress educational programs focused on diversity, inclusion and gender exploration and expression.

Atlas was a highly controversial member of Trump's White House's coronavirus task force until his resignation in December 2020. He repeatedly renounced pandemic lockdown measures and widespread face mask use and resisted CDC guidance.

Burger joint sues desantis over no drag for children rules:

https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/23/us/florida-restaurant-desantis-lawsuit-drag-shows/index.html

Quote:

A popular restaurant in Orlando that hosts drag brunches filed a lawsuit Monday against Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, claiming it lost business because of a new law signed last week that has been widely interpreted by LGBTQ advocates as a crackdown on drag shows.

Lol. "Widely interpreted"

Quote:

The owner of Hamburger Mary's Orlando says their First Amendment rights were violated when DeSantis last week signed a bill, SB 1438, restricting the attendance of children at certain performances, according to the lawsuit. The restaurant is asking the court to block the implementation of the law.

"This bill has nothing to do with children, and everything to do with the continued oppression of the LGBTQ+ community," a statement posted Monday on the restaurant's Facebook page reads.

Quote:

Hamburger Mary's which has several locations across the US used to host family-friendly drag brunches on Sundays at its Orlando location, where children are allowed to attend, the suit says.

"There is no lewd activity, sexually explicit shows, disorderly conduct, public exposure, obscene exhibition or anything inappropriate for a child to see," the lawsuit says.

After the law was signed, the restaurant told its customers that children won't be allowed to attend any of its drag shows, and as a result, 20% of its bookings were canceled for a May 21 show, as well as for future shows, according to the suit.

Kids were 20% of your drag business patrons? Wow..

Quote:

Kara Gross, ACLU of Florida's legislative director, last month called the legislation "a blatant attempt to erase drag performers and silence the LGBTQ+ community."

You can still have drag shows, just no kids. Is that crazy? Or is it crazy how much you want kids to attend?

Looked like a trim of the increased summer tickets, blackouts across the usual holidays / higher traffic days.

Would ponder Disney is feeling a nice squeeze of declining economy, inflation hits on their costs, and sprinkle in some hefty bad publicity.

Clinton was much better than most give him credit for. For a dem, he really didn't rock the boat much. He knew he got the keys to a Cadillac. He changed the oil, rotated the tires and kept it rolling.

And I've NEVER voted Dem.
