Spare us the drama, dude. No one defends hetero pedophiles. However, the left and the LGBT movement have created situations like this where norms of behavior are violated with impunity for fear of offending a gay/trans person. A female lifeguard exposed her breasts to underage boys. Nothing was done about it because she says she is a man. It's ludicrous, but many on the left will ignore or even defend it.

There are tens of thousands of victims of church related abuse, but you think LGBT people (who are unwelcome in most churches) are the enemy and reference is accordingly in posts like this every day? That doesn't square with reality.

ETA: I don't make those posts - like the massive report coming out of Maryland in last month - because why bother? Nobody is going to legislate churches on this matter, it's unpopular for GOP. They only protect kids when it's politically convenient. If you saw churches start losing their tax status (state/local and federal) for these crimes the coverups would stop and kids would be protected. Don't even get me started on mandatory reporting which protects these criminals too. Naw, your politicians gave you a shiny lgbt target to distract you. And they don't vote for you so of course it's a win-win all around.

I remember in the early aughts it became very common amongst the older teens and early twenty-something females to call themselves bisexual.

Like all things that happen in these are groups, this too shall pass. Nearly all will grow out of it and life will go on.

You and many many others could stop defending, goaltending and downplaying it for starters. I think any priest or pastor who even verbally flirts or acts inappropriately provocative with little children deserves to be skinned alive. First, I question that number. Second, how do you screen for closet homosexual/LGBTQ pedophiles in the church? I am all ears. There are many good celibate gay priests who don't act on their impulses, just like hetero ones.
