Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan canceled his scheduled campaign rallies on Wednesday and Thursday for health reasons, weeks before May 14 presidential and parliamentary elections.
"Today, I will rest at home with the advice of my doctors," Erdogan wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
Later, AK Party deputy chair Erkan Kandemir said Erdogan would attend a ceremony at the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in the southern Mersin province via videolink on Thursday.

Seemed like Turkey was playing both sides a bit in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and they did supply Ukraine with the Bayraktar drones. Russia is also known for exposing political adversaries to unusual toxins.
Then again, heart attacks happen.
Yeah, Erdogan is a POS, but his replacement could be worse. Look at the Chicago mayor's race.96AgGrad said:

Turkey has had big swings from theocratic rulers to secular rulers and then party way back to theocratic under Erdogan. It would be nice to not have a muslim fundamentalist take over in Turkey.Johnny Park! said:
It won't matter much what happens with Ergodan either way.
Turkish geographical interests won't change.
Meet the new boss… Same as the old boss.

Unbelievably corrupt president. It could be better if the opposition party wins in the May election since they are perceived as more pro western. Turkey is also a s*** NATO member.96AgGrad said:

Had a family member on a Baptist missionary trip land in Istanbul during the first hours of the fake coup attempt. Hostilities broke while he was in the air. Holed up in a hotel and was able to leave without too much trouble, but it was pretty intense as he could see military vehicles from the window at times. Needless to say he didn't complete the mission work as it was going to be there in Turkey and it wasn't a good time for that without the risk of martyrdom

The incidents began after then-President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew the United States from Iran's nuclear deal with world powers, which saw Tehran drastically limit its enrichment of uranium in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions.
