The Spanish Foreign Legion and Catholicism have been intertwined since they were led by a young Generalissimo Franco 15 years before the Spanish Civil War.
The Spanish Foreign Legion, also known as the Tercio's are composed of rogues from all over the world, have extremely dashing uniforms, and every Holy Week, they parade around the square outside of their barracks singing their battle hymn "novios de muerte" (grooms of death) while hoisting Christ Crucified over their head.
