One of my dear high school friends was a female Olympic class athlete and spent a good part of the 1990s competing in Europe and working for the IOC. She says she was approached multiple times by other female athletes trying to get her to "bat for the other team", so to speak. She is pretty grounded in her beliefs, so she never went over. But it is no surprise to learn women's sports is filled with lesbians.

Fine, Whatever, Lesbians need something to do too.

The ones I don't get are athletes like Megan Rapinoe. This week she and her partner came out in support of trans athletes competing in women's sports. That was puzzling because it was fairly well known that the women's team Rapinoe played on got embarrassed by a team of high school boys back in the day. I don't understand what about that she considers fair. My guess is she never got clotheslined by a trans dude.

Rapinoe is in the elite class. As is common, especially with women, keeping other women down is a key part of her power. She doesn't care about USWNT or young girls competing in sports. She likes that she is "in". She gets the TV show appearances. Her opinions mean things. That is what is at stake for her.

What happened to Women's rights? The 50th anniversary of Title IX is all over ESPiN but nothing about protecting the female athletes.
