Let's agree that nobody should be executing prisoners of war. How common and prevalent is this and what happened to the people who are doing so? US soldiers have massacred civilians were convicted and court martialed. Is Ukraine doing that, I have no idea. I do know that Russia is not being held accountable for their acts of terror. Bombing civilian housing and infrastructure is the point.

Your point that Ukrainians will start raping Russians when they have the chance is dumb. Let's prosecute people for things they actually do not what they hypothetically might do so that you can say everybody's bad.

We send mostly older stuff that must be maintained and then replaced anyhow, and it destroys Russian military production that then doesn't go towards making weapons it sells to our various enemies like Iran or North Korea, etc. the world is a calmer place with smaller long term military budgets if Russia ln military production and exports are majorly hampered for a long while.

Russia less able to threaten its neighbors helps stability more broadly. Of course, the costs and benefits can be calculated numerous ways but it's not unreasonable that the expenditures to support Ukraine result in both long term savings and re-allocation of funds to the weapons we are learning we need for tomorrow versus what we have or what we were presuming.

Our defense dept can't pass an audit. People actually believe we know exactly what we are sending?

My point is don't start using emotional arguments to defend sending money to Ukraine. Make a good political/strategic case for it.

From what this administration is doing right now, it's clear that they want exactly what TeslaAg said. Lots and lots of Russian dead bodies. I don't get why he was flagged...that is literally what we are sending money for.

To make sure the war drags on and on, to bleeed the Russians out. At the cost of the US taxpayer (meh) and certainly (the part most NPCs don't realize) at the cost of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

Not my point. The US adminstration is dragging the war out in Ukraine because it suits us, and is supposedly better for us strategically. The Ukes are getting invaded by Russia on one side, and shafted by their "allies", who won't to see the war prolonged inside Ukraine.

Russia has to own their actions sure.

But Russia also has to look out for their national security interests.

They made it very clear to the international community that further NATO expansion and overthrowing eastern European governments and taking actions that put Russia in a weaker defensive position would lead to conflict.

Before Amy of this happened
Ukraine wanted to negotiate, give up some regions where people were actively rebelling against the current regime and get security assurances from Russia.

The US told them to not negotiate and if it came to war we would have their back.

And then when the war started they wanted the same thing. And we pushed them to not negotiate.

The US is 100% dragging this out intentionally.

And encouraged escalation instead of negotiating for the best interests of all parties.

And now we are at a point where enough killing has happened that negotiations are off the table until some wins.
