YEAS!!!! More Military equipment to Ukraine. Hope we don't have to fight any wars anytime soon.
Not like other countries are saying they are preparing for war or anything. Not like we are having any issues getting more equipment to replace the stuff we are sending to Ukraine. Sure hope we don't need the SPR.
To break this down, that likely equates to $1B in net profits handed over to defense contractors and related entities. Let's say they follow the rules and send 10% back to The Big Guy.
$100 million to Biden and friends for this. Just let that sink in a bit.
More dead russians. Stack them high and stack them wide.
Disgusting.
Regardless of your stance on this,, defeating those murderers invading a sovereign country, raping thousands of kids, kidnapping hundreds of thousands of youths, castrating and torturing Ukrainian men, and raping countless women isn't exactly disgusting.
Young Ukrainian girl visits the grave of her soldier father.
Rest in Peace Mykola Tkachov, Ukraine will never forget your sacrifice.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Our interstate highways suck, our borders are wide open, our schools could use better protection, etc... and yet we send money to corrupt governments instead.

Once again, there are no good guys in this war. Putin? No. Ukraine/Zelenski/Hunter? No. Biden/Xi? No and no.
I won't even post, yet again, some of the terrible things/facts about what Ukrainians have done. That walking/talking humans want to see Joe Biden prosecute an expanding war in Europe/Asia utterly stupefies me.
And for those who just want someone to 'take on' the Russians, let's remember our dear leader is the guy who has been chummy with them since 1979, meeting every single Soviet/Russian president since then multiple times, as well as traveling to the most corrupt country on the planet as special envoy (Ukraine) while his son sat on the largest oil and gas outfit there's board, run by Russians oh by the way, over 14 times while VP.
How many armed guards could this fund for schools?
Who cares about dead kids here? Joe Biden is helping kill Russians, finally. Yay, he's been right about so many things in foreign policy for so long, this time it's bound to be the same.
Look I wish we'd GTFO of this situation as well. But you guys are freaking out over another $2.6B?
We spend almost a trillion dollars a year on defense. Having some of that go to an active war zone probably makes sense. The money isn't the issue when it comes to our involvement there
More dead russians. Stack them high and stack them wide.
Who I'd wager that the majority of them don't want to be there either. Young to middle aged men being used as pawns by the politically elite on both sides of this conflict.

It's a war. Really bad stuff happens. And you're naive if you think Russians are the only ones doing it.
If things are really this bad, you'd think Biden would be sending the Ukes weapons that could actually win the war (like F-16s and A-10s) instead of sending them just enough weapons just to keep the war going on forever. But at least you can Stand With Ukraine for some more time, until there aren't any left.

And we didn't even spend that much. It's just the book value of the stuff when it was purchased. There's not guaranteed we will even replace most of it.

Until the Democrats want to raise taxes again, because we have crumbling bridges and underpaid teachers
The issue is it's a bottomless pit of spending/munitions into a meat grinder that has killed a few hundred thousand so far and spiked food/energy prices globally for going on 14 or so months with no end in sight. There is no strategic interest/ally/freedom for Americans to benevolently toss a few billion a week at here.
We are depleting our munitions/capacity vs. a Chinese threat for nothing but bloodshed and HUGE net inflation costs (which is also starving people the world over). And the cost isn't, again, simply dollars.
They are going through more 155mm shells in a day than we produce in a month. The 'reconstruction' price tag is around 750 billion right now. Guess who will be 'stepping up' to pay that tab via long term to be forgiven 'loans'?
