Well Trump has Lindsay Graham as his new best friend and he is one of 3 Senators to have endorsed Trump. Graham is Ranking Member on Judiciary and is his logical choice just as Sessions was in '16. If not it will be someone similar. Trump is lazy about appointments and cares about personal loyalty over competence every time, worse he is a sucker for anyone that says nice things about him and he gets used and abused over and over because of it.

So do you look at Lindsay and think "Now THAT is a guy who will clean up the Swamp!"?

DeSantis is a Harvard Lawyer himself and he has put very strong law enforcement people around him in Florida. He's recruiting cops from all over the US. He formed an election fraud taskforce that came down like a hammer on any malfeasance. He's got a strong network of exactly the types of attorneys you need that could actually make a difference in the DOJ because he actually understands the law and he at least has a chance of appointing the right people to make a difference.

Personally, I would like to see DeSantis' list for potential judicial nominees and not just SCOTUS all of them. But I will say that if even one of his potential SCOTUS nominees comes from either the DC Circuit that would be a hard no from me.

We have to get our courts working and upholding the law again. And on the same general subject, who would he name as US Attorneys. Because the whole lot of those need to go too.

I agree but DeSantis is in a similar position to what Cruz was. A Harvard Law guy that was a conservative. He has a LOT better chance of knowing who is real and who is a BS artist than most and if you look at how he has run Florida it's pretty clear what he wants. There is no guarantees with any Judicial appointment but there aren't many others who are in a better position to pick them.

Trump is going to rely on someone else to make those picks for him. That was great last time but that's no guarantee he will continue to do that well. I am VERY concerned that Graham is so cozy with Trump now, that is not the guy I want making those picks and Graham wouldn't be going all in if he weren't getting something in return. Whether that is AG, a SC appointment, or something else is what is hard to know. Graham is someone who needs to be primaried out not someone who is getting more powerful.

Fully agree about Graham. I would rather have Ted Cruz, Jim Jordan and Senator Kennedy making judicial recommendations. At least I trust them to read judges' opinions.

Trump didn't put Hillary away and let the swamp run roughshod over him, so....probably not him, as he'd be a lameduck on day 1.
