With deaths caused by an open border and Soros DAs/judges, white liberals are easily responsible for 500 deaths a day through their policies. Thousands of new angel families in this country every year because of Democrats/Liberals/Marxists.

The Governor of Texas/LG/AG have no power over immigration. It is expressly delegated to the President and to a lesser extent Congress.

The only unilateral monarch like power that the President has in our constitutional republic is on immigration policy.

The people of Greenwich, CT vote for this because they know they will never have to deal with it.

The white liberals in New England called in the military to deport only 50 when Desantis took them up on their offer.

The burden will always fall on the people of Texas.

It was nice to at least see the cross tabs in the exit polls on 2018 Beto/2022 Abbott voters say that their main reasons for leaving Beto was the border and crime.

Also Latino voters in Texas are trending Republican because of what the Dems have done to our border.

Biden is too functionally and cognitively gone to know.

The Dems and the radical left just don't care. This is just the broken eggs required to make an omelet.

All so someone can have cheap food and drywall installed.

So very sad. They look so happy here.

I know they frown in it here, but if there is a GFM or something to help I am sure many here will give.

What exactly (and I mean this sincerely, because I haven't researched it) could the feds do if Texas just said FU and started getting rid of people themselves? Withhold funding? Aren't they already basically doing that by completely overburdening our resources with illegals? Would Biden try to send in the military?

I guess the real problem is that NO politicians want to do anything about it. Trump, even though he's an egotistical asshat, was the only one in my lifetime to actually mention doing something about illegal immigrants. The Bushes were the worst- didn't do jack *****

Read up on 1994 California Proposition 187, Alabama HB 56 and Arizona SB 1070.
Slick Rick Perry said that the Alabama and Arizona laws were "Not good for Texas" and ensured illegal aliens could pay in state tuition. As you can see, federal courts stepped in. When Texas had a TSA grope bill in the state lege, this happened: Federal Threat Shuts Down TSA "Groping" Bill
Quote:

Withhold funding?
They can try. Or as noted above: shut down commerce.
Quote:

Illegals expenses < Federal funds coming in for other stuff
Quote:

Would Biden try to send in the military?
He might. There is no leadership on the anti-illegal alien side.

You are sadly, correct on this matter. There is no leadership to crackdown.
RePORKlicans want cheap labor.
DemocRATs want cheap voters.

Ambulances from three different counties and several evac helicopters were used to get all of the wounded illegals to hospitals. Counties along I-10 have about 3 high speed chases with bailouts every week. This nonsense is draining county and hospital budgets.

@ SW AG80, I guess I didn't reply directly back to you.

No, I am from Del Rio, but I know a lot of the ranching community from the area through rodeo and 4-H back in my younger days.

A good friend and fellow Ag from Del Rio moved to Ozona when we were younger, he married a Tambunga girl after college.

What a meteorically asinine comment. I assume you have little to no experience in the area of drywall contractors, construction in general and the food service industry.

Since you are unfamiliar, let me help you with actual experience and numbers. We are required on certain projects to meet Davis Bacon requirements. You get a nice little spreadsheet showing the wage you must pay for each type of trade / subcontractor.

Over the past 15 years and 1000s of projects, I have never once ran across a situation in Texas where we need to up our payments to subs to meet D-B requirements. Not once. From the trash pickup / cleaning crews through the HVAC installed. Not Once.

Quit muddying the waters on immigration with such a tired and majorily untrue quip on cheap labo.

Its inaccurate, false and misleading. I'll let you slide on this one with a warning vs penalty flag.

For government jobs with Federal funding. Residential construction have no such requirements.

Because when you ink those government contracts you are barred for hiring illegal aliens.

LOL, if the project involves more than 8 residential units it subject to Davis-Bacon.

We do non-government work too, pay to our trades is the same.

My facts are real world experience from starting and running a $35MM/yr company doing residential construction work in Texas, both for sale and under federally funded programs.

I also started and run a several $MM a year residential concrete business. Same thing.

Regarding being barred from hiring illegals, thats not just government related. It applies to all companies. Maybe you think we must be more compliant due to audit and oversight. In 15 years, the immigrant status of our jobsite workers has never been questioned and reviewed.

There is a large difference between perception / colorful charts and reality. I appreciate your contribution in making that abundantly clear to readers of these posts.

Also, saying 75% of illegals work in construction is NOT the same thing as 75% of construction workers are illegal - which is the picture you try and paint.

Believe in your fantasies all you want, but you are simply not based in reality.

And I could go on an on about California and "whistleblowers".

You a missing a subtlety that is causing Texas Latinos at the border to turn against the Dem's loose border security. It goes more like this:

"Also Mexican-American voters in Texas are trending Republican because of what the Dems have done by flooding the border with Central and South American gang members."

Not all Hispanics are the same, and they don't all necessarily like each other.

Edit: I can't spell worth caca.

Limits and exclusions apply. Most homeowners hiring illegals to do drywall at the primary residence are exempt. A business owner having work done at their facility is also exempt.

In bold is the general rule for Davis Bacon, limits and exclusions apply as noted above.

In theory. Just because you run yours on the straight and narrow does not mean 100% of all companies do the same.

I post the articles. You can only speak of your individual company.

12-20 million illegals in this country. They are not all getting a govt check. They are obviously not working for you, but they are working somewhere.
Quote:

In Texas, 1.1 million unauthorized immigrant workers made up 8.5 percent of the state's total labor force, concentrated in industries like agriculture, hospitality and especially construction, where an estimated 25 percent of workers were unauthorized. Link

You should be mad. You are following the law and doing the right thing.
Others are not.
I don't think you are doing one off little residential construction jobs either.
Sounds like you are doing substantial commercial projects.
Glad you are hiring Americans and building great things.

We've been reporting on this from San Angelo.

The DPS was slow to send out information because DPS was chasing the guy until they lost him. Crockett County Sheriff Deputies picked the chase backup. The crash happened in the main intersection in Ozona -- I-10 service road east bound and TX-163.

My understanding is the IA blew through that traffic light. If so then it could be murder because he committed an act clearly dangerous to human life.

The border is open because people like you voted for the party of open borders. Illegal entries have skyrocketed since the guy you voted for opened the border. This coyote should not have been here and these two innocent people should be alive. Stop deflecting. This is the cost you agreed to in order to not see mean tweets.

Which would include "knowingly" committing an act clearly dangerous to human life. Such as running through a traffic signal at 90 mph. I said above, I bet that DA indicts it as murder based on committing an act clearly dangerous to human life. She might not, but I know she is inundated with human smuggling cases. How else do you even try to put a stop to it other than putting the smuggler in prison for life.

To put it into a more common context, when a person drives by and shoots into a house and, instead of killing the gang banger he was after, he hits and kills a 3 year old child, he did not intend to kill that child. But he did commit an act clearly dangerous to human life. Just like this IA did in this case.
