I 100% believe this conversation happened. Teens rebelling against their parents to become independent is quite normal.

BUT

I also 100% believe it had jack **** to do with racism.

Oh it definitely happened, I agree, but not as he presented it

My mom flipped out on me because I got a Boz haircut back in the '80s. She said it looked stupid and refused to pay for anymore haircuts. Thinking back, she was right ...

Like no white mom has ever told her white kid to get a haircut because long hair doesn't look professional or that it looks grungy.

Race baiter is gonna race bait. His parents adopted him, cared for him, encouraged him, and helped him be in a position to be a successful wealthy man and this is the thanks they get. What an ungrateful fool.

Looking back, they probably should have taken the Scott Adams approach. It definitely wasn't worth it to help this dumbass ungrateful f***.

This stupid motherfuxer didn't "embrace" anything in high school outside his privileged lifestyle. He didn't start this race crap until his dumb activist twunt of a girlfriend told him he needed to take advantage of the negative attention he got for sitting on his sorry ass during the anthem during preseason game a few years back. He was pouting because he was benched for Chase Daniels, in preseason. Think about that.

Does this look like someone who was so oppressed, and someone that needed to stand up for black people and police brutality?

Here's an interesting piece of trivia with all of that. Kaepernick took a lot of crap for sitting for the anthem. "He's disrespecting veterans!", etc. He then went to the one military veteran and asked him what he should do to not be perceived as disrespecting veterans by sitting on his ass.

Nate Boyer was the one who told him to go ahead and take a knee instead.

Here's a pic of him from his college days. Yes, I know he was a green beret and, frankly, I don't give a ****

I am going to say that in the 60s, 70s and 80s, a lot of guys caught flack from their parents about there hair style. However, I never recall anyone crying racism or more likely sexism before.

"Cut your damn hair, you look like a girl."

A lot of guys caught flack about their hair and the racist stereotype of "looking like a thug" about black hairstyles which is what Colin Kaepernicks parents told a black child. Your attempt to move the bar doesn't have any relevance to this specific situation in reference to Colin Kaepernicks context.

What a massive POS to bag on his parents on a completely normal parenting thing to do.

What racist *******s they were to take in a black kid that otherwise probably would have died young and been a loser.

Did she tell him it made him "look like a thug"? If not it sure your false equivalency has much relevance to Colin's specific situation.

It's normal to use racist stereotypes when describing minority hair styles? In what household is that normal exactly?

Mine when I showed up from A&M with hair to my shoulders and an earring. My Dad about ripped it out of my ear and then called me a thug.

It's called being a parent and wanting your kid to not look unkempt. This isn't hard.

I wouldn't hold that against him. That's a hugely personal thing for an adopted person.

One of mine did want to meet his birth mom, and it's been a positive for everyone.

One of mine has no interest whatsoever - it's not animosity or anything, he just doesn't see why he would. Per him, he's already got parents.

Non-traditional hair isn't specific to a race and parent's of all persuasions generally wanted their kids to look their best before we entered this latest anything goes age.

Are my parent's now retroactively homophobes thinking I was trying to be a girl because they didn't like long hair on a straight guy?

I think there's a way that you can talk about this issue that doesn't come across as making your adopted parents out to be potentially racist. It's legitimate to point out that cornrows and dreadlocks shouldn't be stigmatized as unprofessional, and that such stigmatizations are at best racially insensitive. He could've said I pointed that out to my mom, she listened to me, we sang Kumbaya and life moved on. Or used another example that was anybody other than his mother.

Adopted kids don't have to be any more grateful than anybody else for their parents. That's not a fair expectation. But I think every kid should try to be tactful in how they talk about their parents to the media, especially when you're throwing around words like racism.

This.

Throwing your adopted mom under the bus in this racially charged environment where merely being labeled a racist is enough to completely destroy reputations is abhorrent. Now, in order to survive the onslaught, his mother will be forced to plead for forgiveness from the mob and genuflect before the altar of leftism. **** Collin.
