I agree on the prostitutes and drugs but to say you have no business going to a bar seems ridiculous.

Lots of business is done in restaurants and bars. There is often a very significant social aspect to being successful in business, bars and restaurants can be part of that.

Many guys like to hit a bar regularly to get some time with their buddies, co-workers and treat themselves to some guilty food pleasures. That does not make them a bad husband or father.

Obviously self control needs to be part of that equation as a father and husband. It seems like this is where the dude messed up. Overindulged, lost his whits, then his life.

To say that a husband and a father has no business being in a bar is ridiculous.

having business lunches or dinners and a few beers after work with your buddies is clearly not the same as hanging out in bars late at night and being intoxicated. Sorry if I was not succinct enough in my point.

Sad deal for that dude but he certainly was living a different lifestyle. It's not like he went to the pole dancing clurb and got a little crazy.

This dude had to have done this before, knew where to go to rage party and score hookers, and made some bad decisions.

You don't get a little hammered then jump into prostitutes and IV drug use.

I pray for his family as they likely did not know this side of him, but most certainly have to live with the consequences of his poor decisions.

To be honest, I was reconsidering out trip until I learned more about this dude, but as of about a week or so ago it appeared this was going to be the story behind his death.

It's not so much the bus station that'll get you it's the prostitutes and intravenous drug use.

This story seemed about as fishy up front as a Matamoros tummy tuck group trip.

No other reason to go to a bus station in downtown Baton Rouge at 3am unless its known for hookers and crack.

4 teenage boys and a 7 year old daughter. I can't imagine a worse way to go than to leave your boys and little girl with the news that you smoked crack and banged prostitutes on your last night on earth. Completely eviscerates everything he likely instilled on them in their upbringing.

Fun story. Several years ago we had a team visiting us from India. They wanted to do some sight seeing, but didn't bother running their plans through anyone.

So two women and two men completely unfamiliar with America went to the Dallas greyhound station at 5:00 on a Saturday morning, took the bus to Houston, went to NASA, and took the bus back to Dallas that evening.

That sounds like the worst day ever, but sure how they didn't get mugged at the minimum.

I hung out in bars and clubs when I was young and single. I was there to get drunk with friends and chase skirt. That's it. That's what they were for.

Why, when on a business trip, would I need to be out in a bar late at night, much less intoxicated? I am not young, nor single, nor childless. Having some beers after work, no big deal. Out in bars at night, drunk, while the wife is home with the kids - terrible idea and disrespectful to my spouse.

This concept is probably lost on someone that idolizes a guy that has regularly cheated on all his wives and with some really skanky women to boot.

I understand his point. Years ago I had to help shut down a Canadian subsidiary of a large corporation. My travel/work partner and I had very different ideas of what appropriate "going out and having drinks with the boys" meant.

Dinner and drinks and an activity, no problem. Or even sitting in the bar telling stories for a few hours. Trolling for promiscuous people after 11, no thanks. Certainly crazy but related, that dude died of AIDS a few years later.
