I had a sub ask me for an advance on his work. I asked him why. He fked up his knee off the job-site, didnt have insurance nor eligible for workman's comp. He told me that he needed some codeine just so he could work through the pain, thus he needed the advance so he could finish the job. He told me how much it cost from his connect.

The guy wants to work, and isnt using it for recreational purposes. He may have found some discarded hydrocodone shortly after that, with the name sharpied off the bottle, allegedly.

We go to Cabo most years, but always stay on the resort and do very few excursions that are not large groups (like ATV rides, etc.).

Every time we go to Mexico we load up on Z-packs and other non-rec drugs, because it is way cheaper than a doctor visit. We just don't do it at border towns.....I mean, I know of people (not us) that do that.

Friend from my hometown who lived in Austin went to Reynosa to buy valium. She was caught crossing the border and thrown in prison for 9.5 months because authorities said it more than the amount for personal consumption. Family paid around $10k for a lawyer to get her out and he screwed them. Finally enough pressure made the judge rule in her favor and let her go. She met her family at the border and died three hours later at their hotel from a massive asthma attack -- her meds were withheld while she was in jail.

I will apply the Democrat mentality of "means to an end" or "it started a conversation" in this situation.

If it takes being black for us to take the Mexico issue seriously, then let's take that W and do something about it.

Wife and I went as the scamdemic was kicking off, June 2020. We planned one day where we'd explore Cabo ourselves, took an Uber to the downtown area and kept calling the same guy to take us everywhere. Went to Cabo Wabo and walked all thru that area, even partied with the college kids down there at squid roe??? which looked like a typical Saturday down on west 6th. Never did I feel unsafe but I also don't look like easy prey. We did have drugs offered to us a couple times down there but ignored those vatos and kept our own good time going, you have to ignore the riff raff. Lots of poor folks down in Cabo but had an awesome time and made some great memories.

We'll go back at some point but deep water fishing and snorkeling will be on that agenda.

Seems like I just read that 9 of the top 10 highest murder rates per capita in the world of cities over 300k that are not currently in a declared war are in Mexico.

We skipped Puerto Vallarta and Cancun this spring: we normally like to visit Mexico in the fall and early spring. Even in the "safe" tourist areas of Cancun you do get cartels battling each other over territorial rights. And a former governor of Jalisco was assassinated at a restaurant in PV.
