Are any of you willing or able to admit that he is outright lying when he suggests that Desantis is a "groomer" or when he openly says "Desantis is endorsed by Soros" (Kari Lake also spreading this lie)???

Genuinely curious to get some responses. He and Kari Lake are straight up liars, but "it's just politics", I am guessing? Can you admit that these are nasty lies against a good conservative leader?

What does it matter what anyone "admits"? The process is simple, vote in the Primary, and whoever wins, vote for them against the Demorat.

I will vote for Ron, and I hope he wins so I can vote for him again.

Integrity is overrated. I'm for the 'do whatever it takes' or the 'cheat like the democrats' approaches. To me anything is on the table if it gets them into office. THEN we can worry about whether they actually do anything of value. The U.S. presidency is arguably the most powerful person in the world...Integrity and morality only get in the way of being effective.

As someone who voted for Trump and believes Republicans need to take off the gloves, I also believe that someone who was given and chance and failed shouldn't be treated with kid gloves and given another chance. Trump had the Presidency, House, and Senate, and couldn't enact the major platforms of his candidacy. What once sounded like strength now is seen as weakness and whining. He won't win.

Long term DeSantis wing and Trump wing of Republicans can't survive. I posted a thread on how they target different types of people. In natural Texags fashion there was a hyperfixation on one word and not the general thought but thats the internet haha.

My hope is that Trump and DeSantis are able to unite in time and crush the left movement. From there a healthy split into 2 parties with conservatism more at their base just maybe not culture similarities outside of that.

people that support trump are not democrats. geez guys come one. i voted for trump and gladly would again against any democrat but it's a tossup with desantis. desantis brings a lot of similar traits as trump but appears to have better control of his messaging. i would vote for either gladly. i just don't get the whole cynicism towards trump voters. they didn't cost the don the election. they will show up for desantis if he is the nominee because desantis is that good and will earn their vote.

I'm not much for excuses. Trump has done nothing but make excuses for why he couldn't get things done. It used to sound like the fighting cry of an outsider set on reform, and now sounds like a whiny loser. Why didn't he warn us that he wouldn't be able to overcome the political Titans like Romney, McCain, and Ryan. Let's give someone else a chance to overcome the establishment.

Yes. And consider me shocked that politicians lie. And some way more than others. And some may lie less, but their lies have FAR more substantive negative impact on my life (ie Biden).

I hate friendly fire between Trump and DeSantis. But I also don't want any more neo-cons in power.

Well the motto of "put me in charge and I will show you how screwed up both sides are and will only be able to make marginally improvements" doesn't motivate quite like MAGA. As an intelligent person, it is your job to assess if the means were sufficient for the ends you were hoping for. If they weren't, then it would have been bad to overextend beyond what could actually be accomplished.

The public and will are shifting the past 6 years. The control of social media and the trustworthiness of main stream media have/are shifting.

The cynicism is a form of elitism. The Trump diehards "embarass them" in front of their work colleagues or church friends. It is like the manufactured smear attempts painting Trump as a white nationalist. Just because someone who supports him does something you wouldn't do doesn't make you wrong to support him. Its some crappy transitive logic.

You must be a Desantis guy. Trump was pro-lockdown and openly mocked Sweden for refusing to lockdown. He also is still a huge fan of the vaccine. Desantis has been making freedom an absolute priority through actual actions, not just words.

Agreed. I've been saying for at least a year now that pretty much the only thing Trump could do to lose me is fracture the party by going hard after Desantis. Doesn't mean I wouldn't vote for him if he gets the nom, but damn, such a sh*tty thing to do...for those of us who realize that Desantis is an amazing leader who should be commended, not attacked.
