"We are currently witnessing direct parallels in today's society..weak, feminized men with little to no skills and no protection instincts, and overly agitated and aggressive females with no maternal instincts.

Calhoun's scientific work has been used as a model for interpreting social collapse, and his research serves as a focal point for the study of urban sociology

The "Universe 25" experiment is one of the most terrifying experiments in the history of science, which, through the behavior of a colony of mice, is an attempt by scientists to explain human societies. The idea of "Universe 25" Came from the American scientist John Calhoun, who created an "ideal world" in which hundreds of mice would live and reproduce. More specifically, Calhoun built the so-called "Paradise of Mice", a specially designed space where rodents had Abundance of food and water, as well as a large living space. In the beginning, he placed four pairs of mice that in a short time began to reproduce, resulting in their population growing rapidly. However, after 315 days their reproduction began to decrease significantly. When the number of rodents reached 600, a hierarchy was formed between them and then the so-called "wretches" appeared. The larger rodents began to attack the group, with the result that many males begin to "collapse" psychologically. As a result, the females did not protect themselves and in turn became aggressive towards their young. As time went on, the females showed more and more aggressive behavior, isolation elements and lack of reproductive mood. There was a low birth rate and, at the same time, an increase in mortality in younger rodents. Then, a new class of male rodents appeared, the so-called "beautiful mice". They refused to mate with the females or to "fight" for their space. All they cared about was food and sleep. At one point, "beautiful males" and "isolated females" made up the majority of the population.

According to Calhoun, the death phase consisted of two stages: the "first death" and "second death." The former was characterized by the loss of purpose in life beyond mere existence no desire to mate, raise young or establish a role within society. As time went on, juvenile mortality reached 100% and reproduction reached zero. Among the endangered mice, homosexuality was observed and, at the same time, cannibalism increased, despite the fact that there was plenty of food. Two years after the start of the experiment, the last baby of the colony was born. By 1973, he had killed the last mouse in the Universe 25. John Calhoun repeated the same experiment 25 more times, and each time the result was the same."

If true that's scary.

not sure where you copied this from, but Calhoun's original idea was that this was due to overcrowding and overpopulation and that intelligent design of spaces could alleviate a lot of problems.

To make the leap from that to "feminized men with little to no skills and no protection" is pretty amazing. Especially when you consider that we are humans and in study after study fail to act just like mice

I worry about some of these younger males .. something is wrong with them and this article explains it, some of these males couldn't get out of a wet paper bag without screaming for help like a little brat …

Compare the men of the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s and then look now ? Are they giving them some type of feminine Harmon treatment at birth?

Something just doesn't add up that's for sure

This is why it's important for boys to be taught how to do more traditional manly things. Fixing things, hunting, etc. they don't need to make a living doing it or even carry it over as a hobby into later years. But KNOWING how to do it is a big step that most boys miss out on now.

Population density is clearly a factor here. This is happening in big cities.

I had a part time (Aggie graduate) employee a while back. I sent him out to haul some equipment on a flatbed trailer and he had to look up a video tutorial on how to use a ratchet strap…and still did it wrong. This is the same employee that owned a pickup for several years that his parents bought him and he wasn't sure whether it had a v-6 or a v-8 under the hood…bless his heart. I'm sure he will still finish law school and excel in legal counseling, but mercy, his daddy should've shown him a little more…

Well to be honest, ratchet straps can kind of suck ass sometimes.

I think it's going to be ok. Old men complaining about today's young men is nothing new in history.

But he gave us a guide book to follow in which we can defy and resist our instinctual behaviors and possibly avoid falling victim to such things. The less we follow it as a society, the more we creep in a disturbing and chaotic direction. Nothing can change my mind on that.

My dad didn't teach me **** other than playin baseball and classic rock. Everything else I had to pick up on my own, still learning every day but I love it.

Trying to pass on everything I know and learn some things I don't with our two boys. My favorite part of being a dad

If I stick around long enough my grandsons(daughter's boys) will be able to teach their father how to do a lot of stuff. I love teaching them and they're very young now but they really like building, fixing and learning.

Teach your girls how to be more self-reliant too and give them the "can do" attitude. I'm working on my wife too so if/when something happens to me she'll have a clue how to get things done.

That's my 2 cents, carry on b
I don't think you know me.

I laughed when I saw the OP title. We took our son today to be fitted for a tux for prom. Mind you he is a freshman taking a junior girl to prom, which blows my mind, but none the less. She sent him pics of the tuxes she likes. They were all "slim" or "ultra slim tuxes". He could not even get them over his calves, much less his upper legs.

She will have to get this boy in a man sized tux and like it. It goes to show that girls/women are visually attracted to the 135lb non muscular soy boy by advertising and culture. But when it comes to real attraction they are still drawn to the muscular types.

So there is hope out there.

I'm still very convinced environment and the chemicals/hormones we put into our environment have very large unintended consequences. I'd love to see a study of head-waters verses tail-waters of systems on populations.

The theory is those at headwaters are experiencing less chemicals/hormones in the water vs those cities at the end of water systems, which have hundreds of thousands or millions dumping waste into water systems.

And that's on top of all the social conditioning that is occurring.

Refreshing to see a discussion about some truly sound scientific research with direct relevance and implications to the future of humanity. Absolutely bulletproof experiment because as everyone knows rats and people are exactly the same.

The correlation between these gay, free-loading, Banana Republic jeans wearing rodents and modern fashion trends is clear as day. Think about it. This experiment was done in 1973. Bellbottoms were all the rage. Pants have been getting skinnier and skinnier ever since. Coincidence? I think not. Look to the rats. Our future lies in putting mice in a box. Obviously.

The experiment was done 50 years ago and shockingly, nobody listened to the cautionary tale. We are now stuck living in a world with a rapidly diminishing population and nobody's stopping all these skinny gay cannibals from driving mankind to extinction.

The guy did all he could to warn us. He ran the experiment 25 times just to be sure and somehow didn't win a Nobel Prize and nobody has even considered to create another rodent utopia of confined space and forced inbreeding to see what will happen if you try it a 26th time.

A real pity.

This got a good laugh out of me. Particularly "skinny gay cannibals"

I agree with the conclusion that the world is going to hell and masculinity has taken a dive. I also agree that our affluence is the leading cause of that. But this OP looks like a conclusion looking for a proof. We are not mice and this experiment proves nothing

Sexual desire in men is plummeting throughout the world as they fulfill their needs through porn addictions. At the same time, homosexuality in females in skyrocketing. That's not a great combination to have.
