I would not, under any circumstances, vote for Nikki Haley. None whatsoever.

I'm curious about DeSantis's foreign policy and think he's be wasted at the national level, but I'd still more than likely vote for him.

I don't hate Haley and think she has talents but she really lost me with going all in on Ukraine. There is support and then there are folks who are all in and she went all in.

Beyond that though DeSantis is the best Republican candidate since Reagan, he may even be better. It's like he was conceived in a lab to create the perfect conservative candidate and reminds me a lot of Ted Cruz in that he was a guy that understands the Left and how to beat them at their own game only he has much broader appeal than Cruz ever will.

A dying rabid turtle has more appeal than Cruz

Desantis '24

And turtles can't even GET rabies, so that's even worse!

This is absurd. I'm not a Haley fan at all but to say this makes me question your competence and/or your motives.

Will never happen. DeSantis is smart enough to stay away from that political poison.

she isn't my top choice, probably not even in my top 5 of likely candidates, but I'd happily vote for in general.

DeSantis

keep in mind the Always Trumpers won't back Haley because she is a squish and big time interventionist overseas-

but for the most part will back DeSantis who is literally more conservative than Trump.

Im so glad we arent still talking about Trump. Any moron can see he is un-electable. The general population isnt stupid. They want a leader they can get behind and Trump has lost that trust with the general population.

I don't see that at all

Haley did a good job as Governor of South Carolina and was elected twice there

she gave very good speeches at the United Nations

still I am backing DeSantis

Haley can be a VP candidate if she performs well

she isn't my top choice, probably not even in my top 5 of likely candidates, but I'd happily vote for in general.
All from her own official positions:
1. She is a warmongering neocon (ok this one is just my impression, but I'm pretty sure I'm correct on this one)
2. She is for gay couples adopting
3. She believed the government should enforce "stay at home orders" for covid and said they should have been locked down till may 1st
4. She supports the legalization of same sex marriage
5. She supports the children of illegals who are born here becoming citizens (anchor babies)
6. She thinks children should be forced by government to be vaccinated for preventable diseases
7.She thinks you should be banned from buying guns and ammo if you end up on the "no fly list"
8. She supports legalizing pot
9. She is for no limits for political donations (bribes and political corruption)
10. She is for temporary amnesty for illegals that are working.

... I'm sure I could go on and on, and on.

Oh and she is for Ukraine joining NATO... war hawk confirmed.

other than #1, how is that different than Trump? At least she is solidly anti-abortion.

Trump is way harder on immigration. Your not even close here.

I don't LOVE any of them I don't think any of them are conservative enough. Trump is just thumbing my nose up at the establishment, of which Haley obviously is. That's really the only reason I'm ok with Trump. He has taught the right wing to fight back.

I wouldn't call myself a Trump supporter. I just happen to be supporting him now, because the alternatives are underwhelming.
BMX Bandit

how is Trump harder on immigration? he supported amnesty for the dreamers, and was okay with those working staying here.

look at what bill he supported during immigration talks. he backed Paul Ryan. the freedom caucus shut that down.

other than 1, which I agree is big, the two aren't that different on policy. (though I don't know that haley is actually a war-monger)

I don't think your portraying this fairly.

I think he was just trying to get the wall done, and was open to talking. Thats a far cry from complete amnesty that Haley supports.

Needless to say I think all Illegals should be deported immediately, the wall should be finished, and LEGAL immigration should be halted infinitely so.

I don't trust Haley. I have a 6th sense about establishment types that say one thing and do another. Bush vibes going on here. I didn't vote for Romney or McCain, and I was correct. Hailey is clearly catering to the woke. Check the Bubba Wallace tweet. I firmly believe she is taking the positions she is because Trump made it popular to be against illegal immigration. IF she is openly for amnesty now then how much worse would she be without the pressure from the base. I think secretly she would be fine with an open border if it wasnt for national security. I think she is ok with unlimited illegal immigration, and granting them amnesty. She openly supports it.

At least Trump campaigned against amnesty and anchor babies.

I think they are miles apart, on what their goals are. Trump is pragmatic, and looking to makes deals. He states he is against it, and then tries to compromise(I'm against that but it's miles better than her). Haley is openly for amnesty, and has no negotiating power.

Not fair? It's literally the law he supported!

He campaigned against dreamers then immediately changed his tune once in office

If it's not fair to judge a politician in what they do, how should we do so?

It's honestly unbelievable that you cannot understand what I'm saying. We probably agree on more than we disagree.

You have to start off against it to even get to the middle in a compromise. Haley will never get us there.

Honestly its not even a comparison between the two. One caves to the woke and tweets in support of Wallace, and stuff like that. The other is against it.

I know you have turned on Trump and hate him now. That's fine, I even understand why. I'm frustrated myself. That doesn't change the fact that he was the most conservative president in my lifetime, far better than the bushes. Haley will get us more of the same, and I know exactly what I will get with her. More establishment, do nothing trash. At least Trump fights back. Trump compromising to the same point as Haley's starting point does not make them the same. Its honestly ridiculous to pretend like they are the same.

Reagan actually did amnesty, and the assault weapons ban.
